Human papillomavirus (HPV) in Mexico is one of the most persistent public health challenges. Although it is a highly preventable infection, its direct link to cervical cancer keeps it as one of the leading causes of death among women of reproductive age in the country .
Addressing this reality, the Rotary Club of Nuevo Laredo launched a campaign to reverse the situation in the country, through which more than 30,000 children have been vaccinated , using a prevention strategy.
To achieve a greater impact with this campaign, the Rotary Club of Nuevo Laredo developed a campaign called “Art in Motion ,” with the support of the transport companies originating from this border region: Super Transport International (STI) and Mega Express , described Alfonso Salas, president of the Rotary Club of Nuevo Laredo, to T21.
This campaign was launched to commemorate the Rotary Club’s 82nd anniversary. According to Alfonso Salas, this strategy will allow them to travel throughout the country, using an artistic approach to raise awareness about HPV .
“Each stroke represents commitment, and each kilometer traveled represents a cause ,” highlights the campaign carried out by Rotary.
“Each box that travels the roads is a moment of inspiration, and seeks to leave a mark in the fight against the Human Papillomavirus. We appreciate the commitment of the directors of the transport companies that supported this cause,” stated the president of the Rotary Club of Nuevo Laredo.
