<p data-start="166" data-end="471"><span dir="auto">Sales </span><strong><span dir="auto">of heavy vehicles</span></strong><span dir="auto"> continue to show no solid recovery, while some carriers postpone renewal decisions due to economic and political uncertainty, distributors are beginning to concentrate efforts on areas such as maintenance, spare parts and field service, commented Pablo Swaine, general director of </span><a href="https://www.camionespeciales.com/"><span dir="auto">Special Trucks</span></a><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p data-start="737" data-end="1132"><span dir="auto">Industry figures reflect the current challenges facing the heavy vehicle market. According to the </span><a href="https://www.amda.mx/"><span dir="auto">Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA)</span></a><span dir="auto"> , retail sales of heavy vehicles experienced a year-on-year decline of 28.8% between January and April 2026, with 10,038 units sold. Furthermore, April of this year marked the fourth consecutive month of negative growth for the sector.</span></p>
<p data-start="1137" data-end="1359" data-is-last-node=""><span dir="auto">For its part, the  </span><a href="https://www.anpact.com.mx/"><span dir="auto">National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor-Trailer Producers (ANPACT)</span></a><span dir="auto"> reported that, during the period January-April 2026, wholesale sales decreased by 10.6%, while production fell by 22% and exports by 21.5%.</span></p>
<p data-start="473" data-end="659"><span dir="auto">In this context, the company continues to invest in new facilities and in </span><strong><span dir="auto">strengthening its </span></strong><strong><span dir="auto">after-sales</span></strong><span dir="auto"> operations , despite acknowledging that the market is still going through a difficult period.</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="661" data-end="830"><span dir="auto">“Last year we were down 37%. So far this year we&#8217;re down 16%,” Pablo Swaine noted. He acknowledged that the market is still going through a period of caution regarding fleet renewal, although he is confident that activity will improve in the coming months.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p data-start="1137" data-end="1359" data-is-last-node=""><span dir="auto">The company is currently working on the </span><strong><span dir="auto">renovation of its Vallejo facilities and the image update of the Cuautitlán branch</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , projects that are progressing while the market for new units continues to show weakness.</span></p>
<p data-start="1102" data-end="1306"><span dir="auto">According to Swaine, the environment has led many carriers to limit purchases to only the essentials and extend </span><strong><span dir="auto">fleet renewal cycles</span></strong><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p data-start="1308" data-end="1484"><span dir="auto">In response, the company is primarily seeking to strengthen its </span><strong><span dir="auto">after-sales</span></strong><span dir="auto"> business , a segment that has become increasingly important for commercial vehicle distributors.</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="1486" data-end="1642"><span dir="auto">“The only way to have a long-term relationship with the customer is if I provide good after-sales service,” he stressed.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p data-start="1644" data-end="1966"><span dir="auto">Currently, the company operates </span><strong><span dir="auto">eight mobile workshops and two roadside assistance units to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as off-site repairs</span></strong><span dir="auto"> . In addition to the metropolitan area, its services extend to states such as Querétaro, Puebla, Hidalgo, Morelos, and the State of Mexico.</span></p>
<p data-start="1968" data-end="2189"><span dir="auto">The executive explained that the customer service approach has also changed compared to previous years, when customers went directly to dealerships to resolve any service or repair issues. “Today, we come to the customer,” he stated.</span></p>
<p data-start="2279" data-end="2506"><span dir="auto">The operation also incorporates </span><strong><span dir="auto">telemetry and remote diagnostic tools</span></strong><span dir="auto"> that allow faults to be identified before reaching the unit and the necessary spare parts to be prepared in advance.</span></p>
<p data-start="2508" data-end="2742"><span dir="auto">Although he acknowledged that carriers already use monitoring and security technologies, Swaine noted that there is still room to leverage them more broadly within operations.</span></p>
<p data-start="215" data-end="553"><span dir="auto">The company&#8217;s first stage was marked by the vision of </span><strong><span dir="auto">Desmond J. Swaine</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , who championed the development of trucking in Mexico from scratch.</span></p>
<p data-start="215" data-end="553"><span dir="auto">Subsequently, </span><strong><span dir="auto">Roberto “Bob” Swaine</span></strong><span dir="auto"> spearheaded the growth and professionalization of the operation, strengthening internal processes and consolidating the name within the industry.</span></p>
<p data-start="555" data-end="804" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span dir="auto">Currently, </span><strong><span dir="auto">Pablo Swaine</span></strong><span dir="auto"> represents the third generation at the head of the business, with a strategy focused on strengthening after-sales service, incorporating new technologies, and developing the internal work team.</span></p>
<p data-start="0" data-end="110"><span dir="auto">When defining what it represents today, Pablo Swaine summarized the essence of the company in a single word: </span><strong><span dir="auto">reputation</span></strong><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>

</div>
<p data-start="419" data-end="993"><span dir="auto">All of this is happening at one of the most challenging times for the industry. According to the </span><a href="https://www.amda.mx/"><span dir="auto">Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA)</span></a><span dir="auto"> , between January and April 2026, retail sales of </span><strong><span dir="auto">heavy vehicles</span></strong><span dir="auto"> fell by 28.88% compared to the same period in 2025, while the cargo segment declined by 28.34% and tractor-trailers by 30.27%, reflecting an environment where sustaining investments and renewing fleets has become increasingly difficult. Even so, </span><strong><span dir="auto">Scania and Pilot</span></strong><span dir="auto"> continue to focus on the growth of their operations and the incorporation of new technologies.</span></p>
<p data-start="995" data-end="1511"><span dir="auto">In Guadalajara, Jalisco, </span><strong><span dir="auto">the delivery of the 500th unit</span></strong><span dir="auto"> was a reunion of those who have shared the road for years. Amid hugs, jokes, reminiscing, and references to the crises they faced together, executives and employees from both companies spoke of long nights in workshops, operators learning different technologies, and technical teams solving problems on the fly to sustain an operation that grew practically against the current.</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="1513" data-end="1674"><span dir="auto">“500 units is no small feat. We don&#8217;t get here by chance, we get here by choice,” Mondragón said.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p data-start="1676" data-end="1881"><span dir="auto">He recalled that when the automaker resumed its commitment to the cargo segment in Mexico, there was still doubt that </span><strong><span dir="auto">European tractor-trailers</span></strong><span dir="auto"> wouldn&#8217;t find a place in the national market. But seven years later, the story took a different turn.</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="2059" data-end="2357"><span dir="auto">What began as a disruptive venture ended up building one of Scania&#8217;s strongest business relationships in the country. An alliance that grew in volume, infrastructure, maintenance, technical support, and technologies focused on safety and operational efficiency.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p data-start="2757" data-end="2860"><span dir="auto">But behind the number 500, the executives insisted, what is truly important is not the numbers.</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="2862" data-end="2960"><span dir="auto">“500 is a great responsibility,” said Roberto García, founding partner of Autotransportes Pilot.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p data-start="2962" data-end="3230"><span dir="auto">He explained that behind every </span><strong><span dir="auto">tractor-trailer</span></strong><span dir="auto"> there is much more than just a moving asset. There are drivers spending entire days on the road, workshops working through the night, routes that must be followed, and entire supply chains depending on a single unit arriving on time.</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="3232" data-end="3409"><span dir="auto">“It doesn’t impact one truck. It doesn’t impact two companies. It impacts a product not arriving, a supermarket not being stocked, or a production line failing,” he commented.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p data-start="3411" data-end="3613"><span dir="auto">In a context marked by </span><strong><span dir="auto">road insecurity</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , operational pressure and greater demands on fleets, Pilot assured that safety remains one of the most important pillars of its strategy.</span></p>
<p data-start="3615" data-end="3852"><span dir="auto">Arturo Sánchez, founding partner of </span><strong><span dir="auto">Autotransportes Pilot</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , recalled that from the beginning they were looking for an ally that not only offered units, but also technical support, training and technologies capable of protecting the operator on the road.</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="3854" data-end="3908"><span dir="auto">“Pilot, now more than ever, is still Scania and we are going strong with Scania and we will continue to invest alongside the brand,” he stated.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p data-start="4209" data-end="4486"><span dir="auto">Part of that strategy operates through the </span><strong><span dir="auto">Customer Workshop Service (CWS)</span></strong><span dir="auto"> model , with specialized Scania personnel working within Pilot&#8217;s facilities to streamline maintenance, strengthen operational planning and increase unit availability.</span></p>
<p data-start="4488" data-end="4740"><span dir="auto">Technology thus became another pillar of this relationship. Roberto García pointed out that the new units integrate systems focused on strengthening </span><strong><span dir="auto">road safety</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , reducing risks on the highway, and providing greater protection for operators.</span></p>
<p data-start="4920" data-end="5215"><span dir="auto">In parallel, both companies maintain a long-term vision focused on </span><strong><span dir="auto">sustainability</span></strong><span dir="auto"> . Pilot confirmed that it is working on a project to develop a fleet with lower emissions using technologies such as natural gas, a strategy that is part of its plans for the coming years.</span></p>
<p data-start="5217" data-end="5301"><span dir="auto">What seven years ago seemed like just a test now points towards a new goal.</span></p>
<p data-start="5396" data-end="5763" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span dir="auto">The celebration of the 500th unit ended up becoming something more profound than a truck delivery. It was, in reality, a snapshot of everything that happens behind the scenes of an operation that rarely stops: the people, the difficult decisions, the early mornings, the miles, and the trust needed to keep moving forward despite any challenges.</span></p>

<p data-start="1543" data-end="1764"><span dir="auto">According to Rosales, domestic sales of heavy vehicles closed 2025 with a drop of 32% and, at the end of the first four months of 2026, maintain a decrease of close to 29% (with nine thousand 845 units placed).</span></p>
<p data-start="1766" data-end="1969"><span dir="auto">Despite this, he maintained that </span><strong><span dir="auto">the sector expects a gradual recovery during the coming months</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , driven by measures implemented together with the federal government to encourage vehicle renewal.</span></p>
<p data-start="1971" data-end="2287"><span dir="auto">Among the actions mentioned were support programs to facilitate the acquisition of new units, including schemes that allow amortizing up to 85% of the cost of a truck in a single fiscal year, in addition to credit guarantees backed by </span><a href="https://www.nafin.com/portalnf/content/home/home.html"><span dir="auto">Nacional Financiera (Nafin)</span></a><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="2289" data-end="2538"><span dir="auto">“We expect that in the following months from now until December we will recover ground,” said Rosales, who indicated that the sector&#8217;s expectation is to close 2026 with a slight growth of 1% compared to 2025.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p data-start="2540" data-end="2719"><span dir="auto">However, he acknowledged that even reaching that favorable scenario, the industry would still be far from the record levels recorded in 2024.</span></p>
<p data-start="2721" data-end="3156"><span dir="auto">For his part, Alejandro Osorio, director of Public Affairs and Communication of the </span><a href="https://www.anpact.com.mx/index.php/informacion#comercioestadistica"><span dir="auto">National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor-Trailer Producers (ANPACT)</span></a><span dir="auto"> , highlighted that the immediate attention program announced by the federal government seeks to revitalize the domestic market and accelerate fleet renewal, particularly among owner-operators and micro and small transport companies.</span></p>
<blockquote>
<p data-start="3158" data-end="3415"><span dir="auto">The executive stressed that modernizing the fleet is key to increasing the competitiveness of the trucking industry and the national economy, noting that approximately 86% of goods in Mexico are transported by road.</span></p>

<p><strong><span dir="auto">The decline in heavy vehicle sales continued in March 2026</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , although less pronounced than at the beginning of the year. Without a fundamental recovery, the market continues to reflect caution in fleet renewal and pressure on demand.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">During the third month of the year, </span><strong><span dir="auto">wholesale sales totaled 2,696 units</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , a decrease of 2.1% compared to the </span><strong><span dir="auto">2,755 registered in the same month of 2025</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , according to figures from the </span><a href="https://www.anpact.com.mx/"><span dir="auto">National Association of Producers of Buses, Trucks and Tractor-Trailers (ANPACT)</span></a><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Performance within the market was uneven. The cargo segment, which accounts for the largest volume, registered a 2.9% growth, with </span><strong><span dir="auto">2,276 units</span></strong><span dir="auto"> sold . This increase was primarily driven by the Class 8, which jumped from 393 to 855 units sold during the period.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">However, not all segments followed this trend. Fifth-wheel tractors, one of the main drivers of the market, remained under pressure, falling 31.3%, with 919 units sold in March 2026 compared to 1,338 in March 2025.</span></p>
<figure id="attachment_672172" class="wp-caption aligncenter" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-672172"><img decoding="async" class="wp-image-672172 size-full" src="https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/anpact-1.png" sizes="(max-width: 987px) 100vw, 987px" srcset="https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/anpact-1.png 987w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/anpact-1-300x173.png 300w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/anpact-1-768x444.png 768w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/anpact-1-600x347.png 600w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/anpact-1-150x87.png 150w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/anpact-1-750x433.png 750w" alt="" width="987" height="570" data-pin-no-hover="true" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-672172" class="wp-caption-text"><span dir="auto">Source: ANPACT.</span></figcaption></figure>
<p><span dir="auto">In contrast, other classes showed increases, such as </span><strong><span dir="auto">Class 6, which grew 70.2%</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , and Class 5 with an increase of 24.7%, although with a smaller share within the total.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Beyond the monthly results, the first-quarter figures confirm that the adjustment continues. Between January and March 2026, </span><strong><span dir="auto">wholesale sales totaled 6,159 units</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , representing a </span><strong><span dir="auto">20.5% decrease</span></strong><span dir="auto"> compared to the 7,752 units sold during the same period in 2025.</span></p>
<p data-start="191" data-end="489"><span dir="auto">In the </span><strong><span dir="auto">retail</span></strong><span dir="auto"> channel , the performance was more negative than in wholesale. During March 2026 , </span><strong><span dir="auto">2,699 vehicles were sold</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , a 23.3% drop compared to the 3,517 registered in the same month of 2025, according to figures from ANPACT.</span></p>
<p data-start="491" data-end="818"><span dir="auto">By segment, cargo accounted for the largest share of the volume, with </span><strong><span dir="auto">2,298 units sold</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , although this represents a 21.4% year-over-year decrease. Within this segment, fifth-wheel tractors again showed the greatest pressure, with a 39.1% drop, while Class 8 trucks grew by 16.7%, but this was not enough to offset the overall decline in the segment.</span></p>
<figure id="attachment_672173" class="wp-caption aligncenter" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-672173"><img decoding="async" class="wp-image-672173 size-full" src="https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/menudeo-anpact.png" sizes="(max-width: 967px) 100vw, 967px" srcset="https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/menudeo-anpact.png 967w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/menudeo-anpact-300x146.png 300w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/menudeo-anpact-768x375.png 768w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/menudeo-anpact-600x293.png 600w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/menudeo-anpact-150x73.png 150w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/menudeo-anpact-750x366.png 750w" alt="" width="967" height="472" data-pin-no-hover="true" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-672173" class="wp-caption-text"><span dir="auto">Source: ANPACT.</span></figcaption></figure>
<p data-start="1127" data-end="1382"><span dir="auto">In the first quarter, the retail channel deepened the negative trend. </span><strong><span dir="auto">Between January and March 2026, 7,001 units were sold</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , representing a 36.4% decrease compared to the 11,010 vehicles sold during the same period in 2025.</span></p>
<p data-start="193" data-end="571"><span data-teams="true"><span dir="auto">The Class 2 and 3 cargo segments showed distinct performance in March 2026. In the retail channel, these categories increased their sales by 60.9% compared to the same month in 2025, rising from 363 to 584 units. Within this segment, Class 2 registered growth of 84.0%, while Class 3 advanced by 34.3%.</span></span></p>

<p><span dir="auto">The upcoming review of the </span><strong><span dir="auto">United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA)</span></strong><span dir="auto"> will be a key process for the heavy vehicle industry, which sees this exercise as an opportunity to strengthen North American production integration, according to Alejandro Osorio, Director of Public Affairs and Communication at the </span><a href="https://www.anpact.com.mx/"><span dir="auto">National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor-Trailer Manufacturers (ANPACT)</span></a><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">From the sector&#8217;s perspective, the review of the trade agreement could clear up uncertainties and strengthen regional competitiveness, especially in an industry highly linked to </span><strong><span dir="auto">supply chains and foreign trade</span></strong><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">“We anticipate that the review may be complex, but we also see opportunities to strengthen regional integration and consolidate competitiveness in North America,” Osorio said.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">The organization indicated that the industry is preparing to participate in talks related to the trilateral trade agreement, which could begin in March, at a time marked by changes in </span><strong><span dir="auto">trade policy</span></strong><span dir="auto"> and tensions in international trade.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">According to Marcelo Ebrard, head of the </span><a href="https://www.gob.mx/se"><span dir="auto">Ministry of Economy (SE)</span></a><span dir="auto"> , Mexico and the United States will begin a first round of bilateral talks on March 16th to review the USMCA, with the purpose of discussing the necessary measures to ensure that the benefits of the agreement accrue to both countries.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In that context, the sector considers it essential to preserve the </span><strong><span dir="auto">trilateral nature of the agreement</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , noting that the USMCA has proven to be a key instrument for the region&#8217;s competitiveness.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span dir="auto">“The treaty provides legal certainty and a framework for commercial operations to develop with free transit of goods, making the region more competitive,” Osorio explained.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span dir="auto">The importance of the trade agreement is also reflected in the significance of the United States as an export destination for the Mexican heavy vehicle industry. In February 2026 alone, </span><strong><span dir="auto">7,849 units</span></strong><span dir="auto"> were exported , of which </span><strong><span dir="auto">7,015 went to the U.S. market</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , according to figures from ANPACT.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Furthermore, the industry sees opportunities to </span><strong><span dir="auto">strengthen regional supply chains</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , attract investment, and develop suppliers at various levels within Mexico, from industrial components to technologies related to telematics.</span></p>

<p><span dir="auto">The heavy vehicle market </span><strong><span dir="auto">in Mexico</span></strong><span dir="auto"> continued its slowdown in February 2026, following the trend observed in January. </span><strong><span dir="auto">During the second month of this year , </span></strong><span dir="auto"><strong>1,786 units of cargo and passenger vehicles were </strong></span><strong><span dir="auto">sold wholesale</span></strong> <span dir="auto">, representing a <strong>28.0% decrease</strong> compared to the 2,482 units sold in the same month of 2025, according to figures from the <a href="https://www.anpact.com.mx/">National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor-Trailer Manufacturers (ANPACT)</a> .</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">The majority of sales were in the </span><strong><span dir="auto">cargo segment</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , which accounted for 1,490 units during the second month of this year. <p><span dir="auto">Within this segment, </span><strong><span dir="auto">fifth-wheel</span></strong><span dir="auto"> tractors remained the main driver of volume, with 624 vehicles sold last February. <p><span dir="auto">Of that total, the cargo segment accounted for 2,948 units in the January-February 2026 period, representing a 31.0% decrease compared to the same period last year. Fifth-wheel tractors again led sales, with 1,417 units sold during the period, although this represents a 52.1% contraction compared to January-February 2025.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Meanwhile, the passenger segment accumulated 515 units placed in the first two months of 2026, representing a reduction of 29.1% compared to the 726 sales in the same period last year.</span></p>

<p><strong><span dir="auto">2026 began with a significant adjustment for the heavy vehicle industry in Mexico</span></strong><span dir="auto"> . Production and exports, two of the sector&#8217;s main drivers, registered declines of over 50% during January, marking a less dynamic start to the year for plants located in the country, according to the </span><a href="https://www.anpact.com.mx/"><span dir="auto">National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor-Trailer Manufacturers (ANPACT)</span></a><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p><strong><span dir="auto">During the first month of the year, 6,793 </span></strong><strong><span dir="auto">units</span></strong><span dir="auto"> were produced , representing a decrease of </span><strong><span dir="auto">51.9%</span></strong><span dir="auto"> compared to January 2025, according to the ANPACT report.</span></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="wp-image-667880 size-full aligncenter" src="https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1.png" sizes="(max-width: 1452px) 100vw, 1452px" srcset="https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1.png 1452w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1-300x173.png 300w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1-1024x590.png 1024w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1-768x443.png 768w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1-600x346.png 600w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1-150x86.png 150w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1-750x432.png 750w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/anpact-1-1140x657.png 1140w" alt="" width="1452" height="837" data-pin-no-hover="true" /></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Of the total manufactured, </span><strong><span dir="auto">6,653 units corresponded to the cargo segment</span></strong><span dir="auto"> and </span><strong><span dir="auto">140 to the passenger segment</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , confirming that production activity continues to be concentrated mainly on vehicles for the transport of goods.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">The adjustment was also reflected in foreign trade. Last January, </span><strong><span dir="auto">5,076 units</span></strong><span dir="auto"> were exported , all from the cargo segment, representing a </span><strong><span dir="auto">53.8%</span></strong><span dir="auto"> contraction compared to the same month of the previous year.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Furthermore, the international reach was smaller: during January 2026, </span><strong><span dir="auto">heavy vehicles were sent to </span></strong><strong><span dir="auto">seven countries</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , including Canada, Colombia and Peru, while in the cumulative period from January to December 2025, exports had reached </span><strong><span dir="auto">14 markets</span></strong><span dir="auto"> .</span></p>
<p data-start="233" data-end="511"><span dir="auto">By segment, </span><strong data-start="251" data-end="269"><span dir="auto">tractor-trailer trucks</span></strong><span dir="auto"> registered 2,481 units exported, a decrease of </span><strong data-start="321" data-end="330"><span dir="auto">51.7%</span></strong><span dir="auto"> compared to 2015, while the </span><strong data-start="373" data-end="388"><span dir="auto">other cargo</span></strong><span dir="auto"> category reached 2,595 units, with a drop of </span><strong data-start="430" data-end="439"><span dir="auto">55.5%</span></strong><span dir="auto"> . Overall, the </span><strong data-start="457" data-end="478"><span dir="auto">subtotal of cargo</span></strong><span dir="auto"> fell from 10,970 to 5,076 units.</span></p>
<p data-start="513" data-end="883"><span dir="auto">The </span><strong data-start="749" data-end="779"><span dir="auto">total cargo and passengers</span></strong><span dir="auto"> exported in the first month of the year stood at five thousand 076 units, compared to 10 thousand 985 in January 2025.</span></p>
<p data-start="885" data-end="1060" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span dir="auto">Thus, the start of 2026 reflects a profound adjustment in the sector&#8217;s foreign trade, with widespread declines in both tractor units and the rest of the segments.</span></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-667881 size-full" src="https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2.png" sizes="(max-width: 1456px) 100vw, 1456px" srcset="https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2.png 1456w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2-300x137.png 300w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2-1024x469.png 1024w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2-768x352.png 768w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2-600x275.png 600w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2-150x69.png 150w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2-750x344.png 750w, https://t21.com.mx/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Anpact-2-1140x522.png 1140w" alt="" width="1456" height="667" data-pin-no-hover="true" /></p>
<p><span dir="auto">In terms of technology, production and exports maintained a traditional composition: in January </span><strong><span dir="auto">no electric or natural gas vehicle units were produced or exported</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , so manufacturing was concentrated on conventional configurations.</span></p>
<h4><strong><span dir="auto">Used: a flow that continues to weigh</span></strong></h4>
<p><span dir="auto">While production and exports face a contracting environment, the import of used heavy vehicles continues to be a structural element of the Mexican market.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">Between January and December 2025, </span><strong><span dir="auto">26,064 used heavy vehicles</span></strong><span dir="auto"> entered the country , a figure that represented a decrease of </span><strong><span dir="auto">14.3%</span></strong><span dir="auto"> compared to the same period in 2024.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">However, the magnitude of the phenomenon remains relevant: </span><strong><span dir="auto">for every 100 new vehicles, 65.4 used ones are imported</span></strong><span dir="auto"> , a proportion that maintains pressure on the renewal of the vehicle fleet and on the dynamics of the production industry established in Mexico.</span></p>
<p><span dir="auto">The start of 2026 paints a picture in which domestic manufacturing and exports face an adjustment phase, while the flow of used units continues to have a significant weight in the domestic market.</span></p>
