Diversification is beginning to gain ground in the growth strategy of Grupo Directo Express (number 10 in the Top 100 of the Automotive Industry®) . After 16 years of operation, the company has expanded its business lines and added technology to its processes, while maintaining the automotive industry as its main market, explained Iago Cano, the company’s commercial manager.

Currently, the company offers door-to-door dry van services between Mexico and the United States , vehicle transport via car carriers within Mexico, and a division specializing in flatbed and specialized trailers. Their next focus will be on ports. Cano stated that Directo Express is about to launch a division for containerized cargo transport. According to the executive, the company currently has 1,300 tractors and 2,200 trailers operating in Mexico and the United States .

Technology accompanies growth

In addition to expanding its services, Directo Express has invested heavily in incorporating technological solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Cano explained that the strategy is not limited to systems, but rather seeks to integrate technology into various processes to improve both productivity and the customer experience.

“We are a company that also dedicates both investment and effort to technology solutions, not just in systems, but also in bringing cutting-edge technology,” he said in an interview with T21.

The company has now been established as Directo Express for 16 years , a period in which it has developed and expanded its operations.

For Cano, one of the clearest ways to measure this evolution is in the presence that the company’s units have achieved on the road.

“Everything makes sense when you see tractors on the highway. Two days ago I was traveling in Nuevo Laredo, and seeing the logo with units that are constantly on the road truly represents the effort that all of us employees are making to keep the company moving forward,” he commented.

Along this path, he summarized in one word what Directo Express seeks to represent in its relationships with clients and collaborators: trust .

“We are a company that seeks to have that close relationship with our clients, with all those who collaborate in some way with the company,” he said.

Thus, Directo Express maintains the diversification of its services and the incorporation of technology as part of the evolution of an operation that it has built over the last 16 years.
