True to its innovative tradition of seeking better logistics alternatives for its clients, Transportes EASO surprises the market once again by creating the “overweight corridor” , a logistics service model between Mexico and the United States that takes advantage of intermodal transport to make four shipments with three shipments through its logistics center in Dallas, Texas.
The service design, which has already allowed exporting companies to save up to 25% on their logistics costs , consists of loading 53-foot intermodal containers with merchandise weighing up to 26 tons of product that is transported on intermodal trains to its cargo hub located in the same Alliance intermodal terminal in the Texan city.
Once at their facilities, containers are deconsolidated and goods are rerouted in official weights of 20 tons, which is the maximum weight allowed in the United States. Whether you continue your journey via road or intermodal service to your final destination or by parcel service if you are dealing with multiple destinations, all services are offered at Alliance.
Dallas, Texas, is the ideal city to carry out this concentrated logistics. It has the infrastructure and, being an important consumer center and not very industrial, it demands a lot of inbound transportation services and generates a lot of multi-destination services by land, rail and air, which EASO is capitalizing on in favor of its clients to reach any region in the United States at competitive prices.
In addition, customers who need storage and later retail distribution can also have it with the range of options offered by the service designed by EASO, which has the flexibility that customers require, said the company’s commercial director, Diego Anchustegui.
