Mexico faces a structural problem in freight transport related to the average age of the fleet; according to data from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) , the average age of the freight fleet is 20 years, which means that there are units in circulation that are more than 50 years old .
Based on estimates from various analyses, the used heavy equipment market in Mexico ranges from 80,000 to 130,000 units annually . Meanwhile, the Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA) projects that for every new unit sold, eight used units are sold.
