In the last decade (2016-2025), the tractor-trailer fleet of the federal trucking industry grew 1.69 times and the trailer fleet 1.76 times. During the same period, the companies that make up the Top 100 Trucking Companies® saw increases of 1.74 times in tractor-trailers and 1.79 times in trailers. However, Grupo MexAmerik achieved even greater growth, tripling its tractor-trailer fleet and increasing its trailer fleet 2.8 times.
According to information from T21 Business Intelligence , the company went from 187 tractor-trailers and 349 trailers in 2016 to 566 tractor-trailers and 981 trailers in 2025. This performance allowed it to rank 32nd in the Top 100 of Autotransporte® 2025 .

Beyond operational growth, the company has driven an institutionalization process aimed at strengthening its corporate governance and professionalizing the organization. For Pablo Ocampo, CEO of Grupo MexAmerik , the recent acquisition of Transportes VIM is part of that long-term strategy.
Ocampo indicated that this growth is the result of a strategy based on constant reinvestment, continuous improvement, and a vision of being better.
“What has defined MexAmerik is consistency, perseverance, always reinvesting in the company and constantly striving to be better,” he stated.
The executive pointed out that the company’s evolution has not been guided by a specific size goal, but by the constant pursuit of strengthening its operational capabilities and generating value for its customers.
“Growth is a consequence of doing things well. The goal has never been to grow and be bigger; it has always been to try to do things well and enjoy the process,” he emphasized.
He asserted that the group’s strategy remains unchanged despite economic uncertainty and shifts in trade dynamics between Mexico and the United States.
“We are investing in the country and the industry. We believe in what we are doing and we are convinced that when you strive to continuously improve and do things right, the results will come,” he said.
Under that vision, Grupo MexAmerik recently finalized the incorporation of Transportes VIM, an operation that will allow it to add capabilities in specialized cargo, refrigerated transport, containers and construction.
For Ocampo, the integration is part of a diversification strategy that seeks to expand the group’s service offerings and reduce dependence on specific industries, taking advantage of opportunities in different market segments.
At the same time, the company continues to strengthen MexAmerik USA , an operation that recently celebrated its second anniversary and is part of its commitment to offering door-to-door services within the United States.
“Being able to provide these door-to-door services within the United States has been quite beneficial for us, and we want to continue learning and growing as an organization, but with firm steps,” he emphasized.
Currently, the operation in the United States focuses on dry van services for various industries, a segment that the company considers to have growth potential within its cross-border strategy.
The incorporation of VIM and the strengthening of MexAmerik USA are part of a long-term vision that also contemplates continuing to move towards the goal of reaching one thousand motor units.
Today, in addition to the 566 units reported in the Top 100 of Autotransporte® 2025, the integration of VIM raises the group’s combined capacity to nearly 800 units , consolidating a platform with greater operational reach and presence in various market segments.
In parallel, Grupo MexAmerik maintains an institutionalization process aimed at strengthening its corporate governance, through the creation of shared strategic areas and greater coordination among the companies that make up the group.
The next challenge for Grupo MexAmerik will be to turn the integration into a platform for sustainable growth, leveraging the potential of VIM and MexAmerik USA without losing the focus that, according to Ocampo, has guided the company for three decades: doing things right rather than growing for the sake of growth.
