QUERÉTARO, QRO.- Behind every frozen food item , refrigerated product, or perishable merchandise that reaches store shelves, there is a logistics network that must operate without interruption. To meet a growing demand for specialized services, Frialsa launched its Puerta Querétaro distribution center , bringing its total number of operational centers in Mexico to 30.
The opening of this facility represents a commitment to expanding cold storage and distribution capacity in the Bajío region , an area that concentrates agro-industrial, manufacturing and export activity, factors that have increased the need for specialized logistics solutions.
During the inauguration, Luis Jorba Servitje, CEO of Frialsa Frigoríficos , highlighted that the new operating center is part of a national growth strategy that currently covers 15 states and more than 450,000 installed pallet positions .
“Behind every operation there is much more than merchandise. There are foods and products that reach millions of families, there are production chains that need continuity, and there are companies that place a critical responsibility for their operation in Frialsa,” he noted.
The company explained that the new distribution center was designed to meet the current demands of the supply chain, where customers demand greater speed, accuracy, traceability, and temperature control.
Luis Jorba Badia, Director of Operations and Transformation at Frialsa, indicated that the facility incorporates technology , automation, and control systems that allow for more efficient inventory management and greater visibility of operations.
He also highlighted that Querétaro was chosen for factors such as its strategic location , connectivity and logistics infrastructure, elements that have made the state one of the main distribution hubs in the country.
In addition, Frialsa maintains expansion projects in other regions of the country , including Monterrey, La Laguna, Puerto Vallarta and Yucatán, as part of a strategy to strengthen its national logistics network.
One of the main challenges currently facing the cold chain industry is energy supply, acknowledged Jorba Servitje. Due to the high electricity consumption required for these types of operations, Frialsa has promoted initiatives such as participation in wind power projects and the installation of solar panels at its operational centers, although it considers energy to remain one of the most significant challenges for the sector.
For Mauricio Kuri González, governor of Querétaro, the investment confirms the attractiveness that the state maintains for logistics and industrial projects , driven by the geographic location, the availability of talent and the connectivity with the main markets of the country.
With this opening, Frialsa seeks to support the growth of industries that depend on the refrigeration and preservation of products, in a market where the demand for processed, frozen and refrigerated foods continues to expand for both domestic consumption and export.
