The trailer market, like the motor unit market, is depressed and is close to the volume of 22,000 units where it should be, since by 2026 a market of less than 20,000 units is predicted.
In this context, Fruehauf maintains a combined strategy of organic growth with its current customer base, as well as conquering new markets and regions.
On this route, Fruehauf delivered a batch of 35 dry boxes to International Logistics and Transport Service (SILT) , which is focused on acquiring new customers and serving a region that is important to the manufacturer, such as the Northwest.
“We held talks for several months to renew the equipment, offer them state-of-the-art equipment and thereby win over a customer, and thus gain a foothold in the northwest area, which is a strategic area for us,” Rodrigo Arcos, commercial director of Fruehauf, told T21.
The equipment delivered consists of 53-foot composite dry vans of the Fleet Flyer model, which is focused on helping carriers achieve the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO).
Miguel Martínez, CEO of Fruehauf, highlighted that with this delivery they will work to be a strategic partner for SILT, by offering them engineering, after-sales support throughout the entire cycle, and offering Fruehauf’s availability and commitment to the industry.
“We appreciate the relationship of trust with a company of more than three decades, which has a solid reputation for the quality of its services, an example to follow with its fleet renewal process,” added Martínez.
SILT was founded in 1994 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua , primarily to serve the region’s maquiladora industry. In 2007, it expanded its operations to the United States with the establishment of SILT Leasing & Transportation Services.
“This is the beginning of a business relationship that we hope will last for many years, and that will allow us to continue offering quality service to the clients who place their trust in us. We hope they are the first of many teams,” highlighted Yadira González, founder and CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of SILT.
