The Mexican economy registered positive results in the second quarter of 2026 (2Q26), marked by an increase in all economic activities and sectors, according to data published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) .
In the April-June period of this year, and with seasonally adjusted figures, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased 1.4% quarterly , according to information from the agency.
In its annual measurement, Mexico’s GDP registered an increase of 1.9% in real terms.
In the reference cycle, the GDP of primary activities , which include agriculture, mining and fishing, grew 2.4% quarter-on-quarter; that of secondary activities , which includes manufacturing and construction, increased 1.6% quarter-on-quarter; and that of tertiary activities , which includes services such as trade, transport and communications, advanced 1.4 percent.
On an annual basis, the GDP of primary activities increased by 4.8%, that of secondary activities rose by 0.9%, and that of tertiary activities grew by 2.3 percent.
In the cumulative period January-June 2026 , GDP grew 1.2% compared to the same period in 2025.

According to Inegi, the transport, postal and storage sector registered a positive variation in GDP , with an annual increase of 0.1% in Q2 2026.
“The Quarterly Gross Domestic Product offers, in the short term, a timely, complete and coherent view of the evolution of the country’s economic activities,” Inegi pointed out.
Among the activities, wholesale trade stood out with an annual increase of 11.3%, while mining grew 4.9% and construction advanced 4.8% at an annual rate.
The Q2 2026 GDP result reflects a generalized recovery in the three major groups of economic activity, although with differences in the composition and magnitude of the advances.
Furthermore, it contrasts with the Timely Estimate of Quarterly Gross Domestic Product (EOPIBT) , published on July 30 by Inegi, which projected a growth of 1.5% on a quarterly basis and 2.1% on an annual basis.
