STG Logistics Mexico is shaping its growth in the country, and although some projects such as brokerage and adding warehouses have been put on hold, others are taking shape, such as a new intermodal service from California, United States, to Mexico , taking advantage of the warehouse network it has in that area of our northern neighbor.
Adrián Salinas, the company’s Commercial Director, explained in an interview with T21 that this route is currently gaining significant importance, as several companies arrive in the country via Tijuana to reach the city center. Therefore, they will focus on developing it over the coming months and will begin implementing it before the end of 2025.
“We want to take advantage of the fact that we already have warehouse infrastructure in the area and from there bring it to Mexico. We want to focus on service from Los Angeles or Long Beach to the country. We have around 11 warehouses in California, and many of them are supervised. This market is driving us, and we want to take advantage of the infrastructure we already have,” he said.
He explains that the operation involves reaching the border and transferring the merchandise from chassis (auto transport) to the train , either Tijuana or Mexicali, from Calexico or San Diego, crossing the country and going down to Bajío, Jalisco or the center.
This route, he explains, handles a large volume of imported products for department and convenience stores , which importers currently transport from California to Laredo and down to the center of the country by land.
