Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and Patriot Rail Company will establish a new multi-commodity transloading facility in Denton , Texas, with construction scheduled to begin later this year.
This new infrastructure will offer transshipment and logistics services to customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, ranked as one of the fastest-growing regions in North America.
“We are excited to grow with CPKC and continue serving the cement, aggregates, and lumber markets in the Southwest region by expanding our operations in Texas,” said Tom Tisa, Chief Commercial Officer for Patriot Rail.
He also noted that this project is an example of a strong partnership to develop solutions for companies that ship to and from Texas, while supporting CPKC’s long-term strategic growth goals.
For his part, Coby Bullard, CPKC’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Freight, Energy, and Business Development, said they will continue to leverage their strategic holdings and invest in transshipments across the network to create additional connections, improve service, and provide more efficient and cost-effective transportation services.
“Together with Patriot Rail and Patriot’s investment in this new Denton site, we are creating a more sustainable supply chain while meeting future market needs,” he said.
The facility, strategically positioned to create supply chain efficiencies for CPKC for commodities such as lumber, cement, fly ash, steel, and consumer appliances, will be transshipped on-site.
Patriot Rail is a leading U.S. operator of regional and short-line freight, transshipment, and other rail services.
