The Ministry of Economy (SE) announced its plan to boost the economy and development throughout the country through 10 Wellbeing Corridors , a project that consists of promoting productive corridors based on regional vocations and the needs of the productive sectors, explained Carlos Candelaria , head of the Unit for Attention to Wellbeing Corridors.
The concept of Wellbeing Corridors began with the strategies of the 2019-2024 National Development Plan of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, which aimed to reduce regional gaps and improve the quality of life of communities, focusing mainly on the south and southeast of the country.
One of the main projects he promoted was the Mayan Train , which seeks to connect various communities and tourist areas in the southeast, as well as the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) , both part of a broader strategy for economic development.
Candelaria, representing the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, met in Puebla with the members of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development (AMSDE) where this proposal was presented.
In a statement, the SE explained that, in this location, Carlos Candelaria explained that Secretary Ebrard’s plan also contemplates the strengthening of internal supply and the promotion of the national market, without giving further information to the media.
