The development of specialized talent in logistics aims to strengthen Michoacán’s export capacity. Through Ruta Logística MX , the program has registered 1,677 business owners and students who are receiving training to improve logistics processes and the export of products from this state.
Luis Rosendo Gutiérrez, Undersecretary of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy (SE) , reported that this initiative is being developed in coordination with the National College of Professional Technical Education (Conalep) and the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) , as part of the actions contemplated in the economic development plan for Michoacán.
“We are also on the MX Logistics Route with 1,677 registered entrepreneurs and students who, through Conalep and the SEP, are being trained for logistics, for the export of Michoacán products,” he noted during the morning press conference this Wednesday, November 4.
The initiative positions logistics training as one of the components of the strategy to boost state economic activity, particularly in a context where the competitiveness of export products also depends on the preparation of those involved in their transport and marketing.
Ruta Logística MX is an initiative coordinated by the SE that seeks to strengthen human capital in the logistics sector in the face of the changes experienced by trade and the world economy through free virtual sessions.
The development of these capabilities becomes relevant for an entity with export activity in the agri-food sector.
In the first quarter of 2026 alone, Michoacán contributed 28.2% of national agricultural exports, with sales abroad of 1,246.91 million dollars, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) .
The training of entrepreneurs and students seeks to contribute to foreign trade operations having greater knowledge about the processes involved in the supply chain .
At the event, Gutiérrez also reported progress on the Michoacán plan, which includes a portfolio of 24 investment projects worth 1.337 billion pesos (mdp) , with the participation of companies such as ArcelorMittal, Enel and Grupo Bafar .
He also highlighted the construction of a Development Hub, which is expected to involve an investment of 9.3 billion pesos . Construction will begin in November, and a master plan is currently in place, in addition to work to connect the project to Federal Highway 120.
The federal official indicated that progress is being made in formalizing financial inclusion through the digitization of more than 25,000 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Michoacán.
In addition, work is being done with three specific promoting committees in the municipalities of Uruapan, Lázaro Cárdenas and Apatzingán.
With these actions, the state strategy incorporates both infrastructure and human capital development, two elements that influence the conditions for moving goods and strengthening Michoacán’s participation in export markets.
