In an event held at the headquarters of the Mexican Mission to the European Union (EU) in Brussels, Belgium, the Mexico-European Union Chamber of Commerce (MexChamEU) was officially established , with the aim of increasing investments and strengthening relations bilateral.
The ceremony was presided over by the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, María Teresa Mercado, who had a virtual presence and highlighted the importance of this new entity to strengthen economic and commercial ties between Mexico and the 27 member states of the European Union.
In that sense, this initiative seeks to create a bridge between the business communities of both regions , promoting economic growth and innovation.
At the event, the head of Mexico’s mission to the EU, Rogelio Granguillhome Morfín, stressed the importance of the chamber in promoting key sectors such as technology, agriculture, manufacturing and renewable energies.
“The establishment of MexChamEU represents a significant step towards strengthening bilateral trade and attracting European investments to Mexico, ensuring mutual economic benefits,” said Granguillhome.
For his part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Gokhan Kantarcigil, expressed his enthusiasm for the launch at a crucial time for the dynamics of global trade.
“Our mission is to create new opportunities, boost economic growth and encourage innovation by taking advantage of the strengths of Mexico and the European Union,” said Kantarcigil.
The chamber of commerce will place special emphasis on supporting small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to expand into new markets, providing useful information and networking opportunities with other companies.
In addition, it will be the voice of business, advocating for policies that facilitate trade and investment , and addressing any barriers that hinder economic cooperation.
The ceremony was attended by European government officials, associations and business leaders , as well as diplomats from other countries accredited to the EU. Strategies for economic growth and business collaboration were discussed .
The MexChamEU announced a series of initiatives and events including information sessions with European and Mexican business associations, as well as with Mexican embassies in Europe.
This launch highlights the commitment of both regions to foster a fruitful and lasting economic collaboration for the benefit of their business communities.
