Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar , Secretary of Economy, pointed out that this result is a direct reflection of Guanajuato’s economic policy , designed to attract complementary, targeted and sustainable investments, and to scale local companies towards global value chains, in addition to strengthening formal employment in the state.
Among the factors that explain Guanajuato’s positioning are its competitive advantages , such as its strategic geographic location, which allows access within a radius of 400 kilometers to 80% of the national market, 60% of the country’s population, 70% of the automotive industry and the same percentage of Mexican exports, indicated Inegi.
This is complemented by a robust logistics and connectivity infrastructure , with the intersection of federal highways 45 and 57, world-class rail operations, connections to Gulf and Pacific ports, and significant air connectivity.
The Guanajuato economy is also characterized by its diversification , with 12 industrial clusters, in addition to having specialized talent, cutting-edge training, educational relevance, and close collaboration between academia, private enterprise, and government.
Through the Ministry of Economy, ecosystems of prosperity are being promoted that allow private initiatives to generate and maintain jobs in the state, as one of the state’s priorities for 2026.
