
DHL Global Forwarding has reached an agreement to acquire Aero Cargas, a company focused on logistics and freight transport in Uruguay.
“This acquisition strengthens our presence in Latin America and establishes our first direct operation in Uruguay, a growing logistics hub for regional and international trade,” said Erik Meade, CEO of LATAM DHL Global Forwarding.
Through his LinkedIn account, he detailed that both companies have collaborated for more than 30 years , so Aero Cargas brings solid local experience and specialized capabilities in life sciences and health, industrial projects and operations in free trade zones.
“Together, we will create even more value for customers by combining deep market knowledge across the Southern Cone with DHL Global Forwarding’s global network and logistics expertise,” he said.
He mentioned that they will continue working to connect “people, improve lives and facilitate trade in one of the most dynamic regions in the world.”
Aero Cargas has been the exclusive agent of DHL Global Forwarding since 1993 and specializes in transportation, logistics, supply chain and warehousing, according to information published by this company on its LinkedIn account.
The firm, located in Montevideo, Uruguay, also focuses on maritime freight, air freight, land freight and distribution, among other services such as logistics consulting and industrial projects.
In addition, he participated in the distribution of more than 95% of the COVID-19 vaccines in Uruguay during this health emergency.
