
The consortium led by Recal Estructuras won the bid for the construction and design of 9.204 kilometers (km) of the Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo passenger train, segment 15 “A2”, Monterrey Metropolitan Area.
Together with Constructora Moyeda, Construcciones Urales , Azvi, and Gami Ingeniería e Instalaciones, they were awarded a contract for 10 billion 438 million 249 thousand 060.02 pesos .
According to the tender ruling, the consortia led by Impulsora de Desarrollo Integral , as well as Proveedora de Materiales del Norte , and Tordec were rejected for not meeting the required requirements.
Meanwhile, along with Recal Estructuras, ICA Constructora and Constructora de Proyectos Viales de México complied with the requirements established by the Agency for Trains and Integrated Public Transport (ATTRAPI) .
The agency specified that the work will begin on May 1st and will have an execution period of 1,007 calendar days.
The Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo train is expected to improve regional connectivity in the Bajío region. This 18.06 km rail line will connect the Monterrey Metropolitan Area, passing through urban and rural areas, as well as industrial sites.
It is worth remembering that the overall Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo train project consists of the construction of a 396.3 kilometer (km) railway line that will have a double track section without electrification and will run at a maximum speed of 200 kilometers per hour (km/h).
