The Agency for Trains and Integrated Public Transportation (ATTRAPI) reported that 10 companies have shown interest in the construction and design of 68 kilometers (km) of section I of the Querétaro-Saltillo passenger train, Querétaro-San Luis Potosí section, Querétaro-San Miguel de Allende subsection, chainage from km 0+000 to km 68+000.
He also specified that the tender includes the construction of viaducts, stations, tunnels, bridges, railway underpasses, railway overpasses, and pedestrian bridges.
According to the documents, the representatives of González Soto y Asociados , Comsa Infraestructura , Mota-Engil México , Omega Construcciones Industriales , Impulsora de Desarrollo Integral , ICA Constructora , DANIFERROTOOLS , Constructora Gallo Meda , Calzada Construcciones and China Railway International Group Co. were present at the first clarification meeting .
According to ATTRAPI, the tender includes the construction of a railway line, which includes the necessary studies for the preparation and authorization of the executive project , and subsequently the development of the construction work will be carried out.
“The project is designed to operate at speeds of up to 177 kilometers per hour (km/h). Furthermore, its route has been carefully planned to minimize environmental and social impacts, making extensive use of existing rights-of-way and complying with the urban development regulations of each municipality,” he explained.
The rail connection between Querétaro and San Luis Potosí will promote the attraction of investments in the commercial, industrial and social sectors, in addition to contributing to the reduction of travel times and the mitigation of polluting emissions.
The agency specified that the estimated start date for the work will be September 24th , with an execution period of 851 calendar days.
It is worth remembering that ATTRAPI also launched the call for bids for the construction and design of 82 km of section II of the Querétaro-Saltillo train, Querétaro-San Luis Potosí section, San Miguel de Allende-Villa de Reyes subsection, chainage from km 68+000 to km 150+000.
