The National Chamber of Freight Transportation (Canacar) and Volkswagen Truck & Bus Mexico signed a collaboration agreement that seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of transport companies through preferential conditions for the acquisition of units , spare parts and after-sales solutions aimed at the members of the Chamber.

The signing took place at the Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus (VWCO) plant in Resende, Brazil, as part of VW Experience 2026 , an event organized by the automaker to showcase the brand’s operations, technology, and strategy to its customers.

The agreement was signed by Augusto Ramos , national president of Canacar, and Roberto Cortes , president and CEO of VWCO, accompanied by Ricardo Alouche , vice president of Sales, Marketing and After Sales of the automaker, as well as executives of the operation in Mexico.

Also present were Rafael Santos Magalhães , CEO for Volkswagen Trucks and Buses in Mexico, as well as Giovanni Juárez , the firm’s commercial director.

Prior to the signing, representatives of both organizations held a meeting to exchange perspectives on the main challenges and opportunities currently facing the freight transport industry in Mexico.

During the visit, the Mexican delegation also toured the Resende plant, considered a strategic production and development center for Volkswagen Trucks and Buses , where they learned about the brand’s operations and conducted test drives to evaluate the performance and technology of its vehicles.

Alouche stated that the agreement seeks to go beyond offering preferential commercial conditions and strengthen support for carriers throughout the entire life cycle of their units.

“Canacar is a strategic ally to bring us even closer to the sector and build solutions together that contribute to a more competitive and efficient trucking industry in Mexico,” he said.

According to Volkswagen Truck & Bus Mexico, this collaboration is part of its strategy to strengthen relationships with customers and industry organizations through an ecosystem that includes vehicles, parts, service, technical support, and after-sales service. Both organizations stated that the alliance aims to support carriers facing challenges such as fleet renewal, operational efficiency, vehicle availability, and total cost of ownership control.
