
Nayarit, Tabasco, and Guanajuato registered the best performance in their industrial activity during September 2025, with monthly increases of 5%, 4.3%, and 3.6% , respectively, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) announced this Friday
According to the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF), which provides information on the behavior of industrial activity in the states, Nuevo León and Jalisco also stood out in their industries during the period.
Conversely, the entities that showed the largest drops in the ninth month of last year compared to August 2025 were Oaxaca with 20%, Quintana Roo with 15.3% and Baja California Sur with 7.6 percent.
On an annual basis, the states where industrial activity showed the greatest progress were Tamaulipas, Aguascalientes and San Luis Potosí, with 12.2%, 5.5% and 5%, respectively, in September 2025.
Meanwhile, Oaxaca with a drop of 26.4%, Quintana Roo with 25.2% and Campeche with 15.2%, were the Mexican entities with the greatest decrease in their annual industrial activity.

Progress by sector
In September 2025, manufacturing industries showed significant progress in Tabasco, Chiapas, Aguascalientes, Hidalgo, and San Luis Potosí
In construction , the largest increases were in Guerrero, Guanajuato, Jalisco and Nuevo León at an annual rate.
The mining sector saw increases in Tamaulipas, Chiapas, and the State of Mexico. Veracruz, Guanajuato, Baja California, Zacatecas, and Yucatán followed.
In the generation, transmission, distribution and marketing of electricity, water supply and natural gas by pipeline to the end consumer , the increases stood out in Guanajuato, Nayarit, State of Mexico, Yucatán, Querétaro and San Luis Potosí, also at an annual rate.
The progress recorded in September 2025 highlights the operational and productive capacity of some federal entities in their industrial activity, which, despite the challenges facing the Mexican and global economy, remains a key engine of the country, especially in the manufacturing sector.
