GUADALAJARA, JAL.- During Expo Transporte ANPACT 2025 , Isuzu Motors de México celebrated its 20 years of operation in the country with a double focus: the official launch of two new FORWARD models and the exhibition of three vehicles from its global portfolio, reflecting its strategy of expansion, efficiency and sustainability, which will arrive in the country soon.
National releases: FORWARD 1800 and 2000
The Japanese brand unveiled the new FORWARD 1800 (6×2) and FORWARD 2000 (6×4) , its highest-capacity units to date, with a GVW of up to 26 tons and a high-performance 6HK1-TCS engine . These models strengthen the FORWARD line, one of the most established in the Mexican market due to its durability, low operating costs, and versatility for transporting medium and heavy loads.
“With this expansion, we can serve industries that were previously outside the reach of the traditional FORWARD line,” the management team emphasized. They noted that the new models are now available for sale in Mexico. Both vehicles feature DPD + SCR aftertreatment technology , which guarantees compliance with environmental standards and greater fuel efficiency.
The presentation of the FORWARD also marks an important step in the brand’s technological renewal, offering greater load capacity and a variety of applications that allow it to serve sectors such as construction, food, materials and urban logistics, segments that demand robust and reliable vehicles with less environmental impact.
Global showcase: D-Max, Giga and Elf EV
In addition to the national launches, Isuzu showcased three international models that are part of its global portfolio, but which do not yet have a confirmed arrival date to the Mexican market .
- Isuzu D-Max pickup: renowned for its reliability, off-road performance and adaptability for both work and personal use.
- Isuzu Giga: a three-axle heavy-duty truck , designed for long-range applications and demanding operations.
- Isuzu Elf EV: the brand’s first 100% electric truck , also with three axles , equipped with three battery packs and focused on zero-emission urban mobility.
During the presentation, President and CEO Yoshihiko Watanabe explained that the company is “studying the introduction of these models to the country,” noting that the D-Max could arrive in the near future , while the Giga and Elf EV remain under market analysis .
Alongside the launches, Isuzu announced a 50% expansion of its plant and technical center in the State of Mexico , which will allow it to increase production by at least 20% and exceed two thousand units annually . Construction will begin in December, and normal operations are expected to resume by mid-January 2026.
The investment is part of the brand’s growth plan towards 2026, the year in which it seeks to consolidate its presence in the medium cargo segment and strengthen the integration of local suppliers.
Currently, some of its components (such as springs, turbos and specific spare parts) are supplied directly in Mexico, contributing to the development of the national production chain.
The company’s goal is to close 2025 with 6,000 units sold and grow 10% in 2026 , consolidating its fourth and fifth consecutive years of record sales. “Setting ambitious goals drives us to be more efficient, smarter, and closer to the Mexican market,” Watanabe stated.
Network and after-sales service
With nearly 70,000 units in circulation in the country, Isuzu maintains a 95% compliance rate in spare parts deliveries and is working on updating its dealerships to serve the new range of vehicles.
“Our distributors are ready to market and support the entire range, with the necessary adjustments and additional investments,” emphasized Mitsuo Muto , Plant and Aftersales Director.
In addition, the company plans to strengthen its technical and preventive maintenance network, aiming to ensure that each workshop offers immediate service and original parts to guarantee that vehicles continue to operate without interruption, brand representatives commented.
