Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is seeking Awesome Cargoand mas Cargo Airline to operate at the airport . The plan is not only to move cargo between Mexico and the United States, but also merchandise from Asia that, due to lack of capacity, is transported to Mexico by land. However, this business will depend on several factors, including demand.
“We’re working with many Mexican freight forwarders to increase perishables from Mexico, not only to the Texas area but also to those continuing on to Asia. American Airlines unloads a lot of cargo in Dallas from Asia and Europe, but doesn’t have the capacity to fly it to Mexico and has to go overland. Therefore, with the two Mexican freighters, they can move more cargo,” said Milton de la Paz, vice president of Airline Relations and Cargo Business Development at DFW Airport.
In this regard, he confirmed to T21 that he is in talks with executives from Awesome Cargo and mas Cargo to begin a flight from Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) to the U.S. airport.
“AIFA is becoming a very important logistics center for Mexico and has great potential for continued growth,” he says.
Luis Ramos, CEO and founder of the Mexican freight company Awesome Cargo, confirms that he has met with DFW authorities . Additionally, with its new aircraft, they are exploring the possibility of landing in new markets such as South America, primarily Brazil and Ecuador.
