
The Railway Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF) received bids from six consortia for the construction and design of 111 kilometers (km) of the Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo passenger train, segments 13 and 14, Saltillo-Santa Catarina.
The lowest bid was from Construcciones Ferroviarias del Noroeste (Northwestern Railway Constructions) in conjunction with Moven Construcciones for 15 billion 601 million 003 thousand 850.08 pesos excluding VAT.
While the highest was from the consortium formed by Comsa Infraestructuras , Comsa, VISE and Regiomontana de Construcción y Servicios (Recsa) for 46 billion 943 million 847 thousand 660.88 pesos.

The ARTF will announce the winner of this competition on September 15th.
The Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo train consists of the construction of a 395.77 km railway line , it will have a double track and stops in Derramadero, Saltillo Centro, Ramos Arizpe, García, and Santa Catarina, Monterrey Centro, Las Torres, Bustamante, Anáhuac and Nuevo Laredo Centro.

It’s worth remembering that the consortium led by ICA Constructora was the first winner for the construction and design of 100.05 km of this railway system on segments 16 and 17, Unión San Javier-Arroyo el Sauz.
Guanajuato seeks to free up road
On the other hand, the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) , the government of Guanajuato and the municipalities of Apaseo el Grande, Celaya, Villagrán, Cortázar, Salamanca and Irapuato signed a Framework Agreement for the Coordination of Actions regarding the release of right-of-way in the state of Guanajuato, for the development of the Querétaro-Irapuato train.
The purpose of the agreement is to establish the bases, actions, and coordination commitments for the release of the right-of-way required for the construction of the railways, yards, and terminals for the project.
Therefore, they will work to define and deliver the final outline of the executive project for the construction of the train in a timely manner, and carry out the necessary procedures and actions to clear the right of way, in accordance with said final outline.
As well as receiving from the federal entity and/or municipalities—as appropriate—the properties that are part of the state or municipal property and that are included in the project outline, conducting negotiations with the legitimate owners or possessors of the land, and, where appropriate, promoting the corresponding expropriations in accordance with applicable legislation, among others.
