In March 2025, Quintana Roo, Hidalgo and Tamaulipas were the Mexican states that showed the best performance in their industrial activity, with monthly increases of 17.2%, 9.8% and 4.6%, respectively, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) .
Baja California Sur, with 4.5%; San Luis Potosí, with 4.2%; and Colima, with 2.1% monthly, were also among the states that stood out in terms of industrial activity during the period, according to the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF) .
In that month, 16 states showed monthly contractions . Durango, Tlaxcala, and Nuevo León reported the largest declines, with 8%, 6%, and 3.9%, respectively.
On an annual basis, in the third month of the year, the states where industrial activity grew the most were Baja California Sur, Nayarit, and San Luis Potosí. In contrast, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, and Campeche showed declines in the cycle.

The global and Mexican mining industries are once again in the crosshairs of US President Donald Trump , who, in addition to imposing tariffs on steel and aluminum, is now seeking to impose a 50% rate on copper, although he has not yet provided further details of this new tariff plan.
In light of the potential imposition of such a measure, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said at her morning press conference on Wednesday that a strategy is already being developed that includes bilateral negotiations and export diversification.
He also announced that starting this weekend, a Mexican delegation, led by Marcelo Ebrard, head of the Ministry of Economy , will travel to the United States to begin bilateral talks, with the goal of reaching a comprehensive agreement on various issues, including trade and security.
