The federal government reiterated its objective in railway matters within the Mexico Plan , for which it will build more than three thousand kilometers of tracks for the transportation of passengers and cargo.
He also highlighted that one of the goals for 2030 is to build trains and their components in the country .
“The objective of the passenger train plan is to consolidate the southeast, to consolidate trains to the north. And there is this part where we are working on the link between Mexico City and, mainly, Puebla and Veracruz, which we are working on to have the connectivity of passenger trains and the connectivity of freight trains again,” said Claudia Sheinbaum, president of Mexico.
In this regard, he said that they are working through the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF) “so that there is real connectivity. That the concession of trains continues to exist, but that these trains can move from one line to another, which allows us to have much greater connectivity and to be able to transport merchandise from north to south in an agile manner, improving the connectivity conditions in the country, for merchandise and for passengers.”
Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo presented the Plan for National Development, made up of 13 goals whose objective is to make a better country by reducing poverty and inequality with national and foreign investments of 277 billion dollars (mmdd).
“The goal is to continue making Mexico the best country in the world. Our country is a cultural power and our goal is to reduce poverty and inequality, but to ensure that every Mexican knows that there is a plan, that there is development, that in the face of any uncertainty that may come in the near future, Mexico has a plan and is united moving forward,” he said.
It should be remembered that during this administration the passenger trains Mexico-Nuevo Laredo, Mexico-Nogales, Mexico-Pachuca, Mexico-Querétaro, Querétaro-Irapuato, Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo, Interoceanic Train Line K and the Mayan Train for cargo will be built.
Without giving further details, he said that a plan for airports is being worked on , in which there will be public and private investment.
He also said he will seek to position Mexico in the top 10 countries in terms of aerospace production value, as well as design and build components for a national constellation of observation satellites and increase the local and regional content of exports in the industry by 10%.
For this reason, within the Mexico Plan, he mentioned as key projects, leading the first 100% Latin mission to space, the integration of a complete engine in the country and having a fully Mexican satellite in orbit, the approval of the Outer Space Law, among others.
During the event, which was attended by the national private sector , the president stated that the goals of the Mexico Plan are ambitious, clear and long-term, defining where the country wants to go and in which there will be coordination between the public and private sectors.
