Lalamove, an on-demand delivery platform, has outlined an ambitious strategy to lead the “green revolution.” With a clear focus on sustainability, the company has set the goal that by 2028, 50% of orders fulfilled in mainland China will be made by new energy vehicles.
This initiative marks a step in its commitment to emission reduction and the adoption of eco-friendly practices in the logistics and home delivery sector.
By 2025, it aims for paperless operations and diverting 30% of waste from landfills, with proper disposal of all hazardous waste.
In the medium term, the goal is to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
In the long term, the company aims to continuously increase the proportion of new energy vehicles on its platform.
This information was disclosed by the company through the 2023 Sustainability Report, where it also detailed efforts to support its driver partners.
Additionally, it offers loading discounts for its driver partners in 327 cities in mainland China. Furthermore, the company has collaborated with electric vehicle charging companies and financial institutions to expand its charging network, covering more than 55,000 new energy charging stations across mainland China.
“We are committed to leading the green revolution in last-mile delivery. Our goal is to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, and we are taking concrete steps to achieve this,” said Bill Li, Director of Corporate Affairs at Lalamove.
It also focuses on corporate social responsibility with flexible job opportunities and prioritizes the safety of its driver partners.
Lalamove has over 13 million users and 1.2 million driver partners in 11 markets. As it moves towards a greener future, it continues to innovate and set new standards in sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
