SALTILLO, COAH.– The manufacturing of springs was the origin of Zor Capital Group , from where a history of continuous development began, which considered adding the manufacturing of other parts for transport vehicles, but also a wide distribution network of auto parts for light and heavy vehicles .
Zor Capital Group comprises the manufacturing brands KATAI , Durothane , and SYF, while spare parts distribution includes DIREGO , one of the market’s leading players.
Technology, the route
Zor Capital Group has evolved not only through the incorporation of new products, but, while it began with springs under the KATAI brand , it has now expanded to include Durothane, which are polyurethane parts primarily for trailer components. SYF, meanwhile, focuses on the production of air tanks and suspension components .
During a tour of the plants of the three brands that share the same complex, one of the constants that can be seen is the innovation in processes, aimed at being increasingly efficient , but also at taking advantage of available technologies.
KATAI ‘s production lines include updated processes , not only for precise cuts and precise drilling, but also for painting and treating steel to enhance its strength. Robots are responsible for these processes, supervised by trained personnel.
The robotization of KATAI’s production lines aims to improve the consistency of manufacturing quality , but also to make them more efficient and serve both the Mexican and export markets, primarily the United States.
In the latter, they have also adapted to the current conditions of tariff implementation. While they use steel from Turkey and Mexico for parts destined for the United States, the steel originates in that nation, according to Alejandro García Pérez, Commercial Director.
Durothane is an example of the group’s evolution , a sign of internationalization, as today it manufactures polyurethane engine and suspension mounts following the acquisition of the American firm, Dyco Industries, which was added to Zor to boost it and serve the spare parts markets.
Durothane’s value proposition is the useful life of the parts to replace rubber parts , but through polyurethane, the parts have a longer use and are therefore more efficient.
At SYF, production is also automated using various robots responsible for precise cutting of the air tanks, as well as the precise welding. The painting process leverages the latest technology to prevent rust and provide greater protection and durability to the tanks.
The same approach is maintained with suspension parts, where the process is automated to achieve greater precision in the assembly of the other components incorporated to serve the various trailer manufacturers.
