Woodward Logistics , a logistics and port integrator, congratulated Rosa María Bayardo Cabrera on Tuesday for her swearing-in as municipal president of Manzanillo , Colima, where Mexico’s main deepwater port is located.
“We wish him much success in this new stage and we trust that his leadership will bring great achievements for the transformation and development of our municipality,” said the company led by customs agent Guillermo Woodward.
Bayardo Cabrera was elected as municipal president of Manzanillo, with a population of around 200 thousand inhabitants , by the coalition Let’s continue making history in Colima of the Morena, Verde (PVEM) and Labor (PT) parties.
The official has a degree in Psychology from the University of Colima. Her political career began in 2017 when she joined the political project headed by the current governor of Colima, Indira Vizcaíno Silva.
In 2018, she was a federal deputy of the LXIV Legislature for District 02. In 2021, she won the elections as federal deputy again and was invited by Vizcaíno to join the cabinet as Secretary of Economic Development of Colima , having three undersecretariats under her, Rural Development, Tourism and Labor until October 2022, when she assumed the general direction of the State DIF, a position she held until January 2024.
The Electoral Institute of the State of Colima website compiled the two main proposals made by Rosa María Bayardo during her campaign period, which are reproduced below:
1. We will reinforce our police force to ensure that they are well trained and equipped. We will hire more officers and launch citizen service modules to be close to the neighborhoods and urgently address the causes of violence in the most vulnerable neighborhoods. In addition, in coordination with the next president of Mexico and the state, we will address the causes of violence and create spaces for girls, boys, youth and women to have better opportunities to develop.
2. We will promote a Program of Economic Support for female heads of households, which will be delivered directly, without intermediaries. In addition, in coordination with the next president of Mexico and with the state government, we will bring more social programs for the peace of mind and well-being of the mothers of Manzanillo.
