Within the retail sector , 30% of revenue from the supply of goods and services came from the motor vehicle, parts, and fuel subsector . This was followed by retail trade in self-service and department stores . The subsector with the smallest share was that of sales exclusively through the internet, printed catalogs, television, and similar channels, which accounted for 0.8%.
The EAC detailed that the largest proportion in fixed assets corresponded to real estate (54.8%), transport units and equipment (12.7%) and computer equipment and peripherals with 6.2 percent.
During the cycle, women accounted for 52.5% of the average annual employment compared to 47.5% for men, while wages were distributed 48% for women and 52% for men.
According to Inegi, the Annual Trade Survey aims to capture and generate basic statistical information and economic indicators for the reference year, allowing us to understand the trends, factors and dynamics of commercial activity in Mexico.
This year, the commercial sector in Mexico has experienced mixed performance. According to the Monthly Survey of Commercial Enterprises (EMEC) , wholesale trade saw a 2.5% monthly increase in September alone, while retail trade remained unchanged month-on-month.
This behavior has resulted from lower consumption in the domestic market, as well as an increase in inflation, low employment expectations and external pressures, which have impacted consumer confidence.
