Retail sales of tractor-trailers in the first two months of 2025 showed an adverse result, falling 22.7% compared to the same cycle in 2024,standing at 1,788 units compared to 2,313 in the comparison cycle, based on figures from the National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor-Trailer Producers (ANPACT) .
When comparing the registration figures from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) , the performance of the tractor-trailer segment showed a slight increase of 2.2% in the first two months of 2025 with 4,038 units, while the previous year 3,952 units were registered.
In an analysis carried out by T21 Business Intelligence , it can be identified that in the tractor-trailer plating market, Kenworth registered 1,802 units in the first two months of 2025 , an increase of 21.7% compared to the same cycle in 2024.
Freightliner placed 1,168 tractor-trailers, a 2.9% decrease compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, International also registered a 21.8% increase, reaching 670 units.
This market performance allowed Kenworth to increase its share of total packaging, reaching 44.6% from 37.5% in the 2024 two-month period. In this area, Freightliner reached a 28.9% share in 2025, up from 30.4% in the previous year, while International reached 21.8% this year, compared to 13.9% in the comparison cycle.
Sales by market segment
Based on data from the Federal General Directorate of Motor Transport (DGAF) , of the total registration of tractor-trailers, 52.6% was carried out by large companies , 17.7% by medium-sized companies, 20.4% by small companies, and 9% was allocated to the Man-Truck.
When reviewing the displacement by company size in each of the brands, within the three main market participants, Kenworth displaced 54.1 percent of the units in the first two months of 2025 in large companies , while for Freightliner it corresponded to 64 percent and International 47.6 percent.
As for mid-sized companies, Kenworth accounted for 18.8% of the registrations, Freightliner 11.4%, and International 18.4%.
While in the case of small companies, the percentages were reversed: Kenworth accounted for 18.5% of its operations, Freightliner 17.2%, and International contributed 24%.
