What began as a desire to create a more efficient e-commerce system in Mexico has now become a company with a compound annual growth rate of 120% , projecting to launch operations in the United States within the next three months. This is the story of WeShip , a 100% Mexican logistics management platform.
“Before starting WeShip, we were e-commerce operators (…) we had to work with multiple shipping companies, multiple systems; that’s when we realized that they weren’t as well designed for operators, so we decided to launch the first version of our system. In fact, we were our own customers, our own guinea pigs doing the tests and so on, but that was in 2021, when we launched the first version of the system to the market,” said Adrián Galán, founder and director of WeShip, in an interview with T21.
Now they are venturing into the United States, backed by a good relationship with parcel companies in Mexico, who helped FedEx itself invite them to open a division in the United States, where their priority will be to serve the domestic and Hispanic market .
“We’ve already opened a Limited Liability Company (LLC), we already have the FedEx account in the United States, we’re already in contact with FedEx for platforms, we’re also in contact with USPS (US Postal Service) , the government parcel service, to launch with them and with UPS . With those three, which the Americans call the big three , the three largest,” Galán pointed out.
Furthermore, one of the platform’s standout features is that it was developed by Mexicans. Its system centralizes supplier management in a single portal, allowing operators and clients to connect e-commerce stores and automate processes such as generating shipping labels and capturing addresses.
WeShip’s administrative portal offers complete control over shipments in real time, with advanced features for scheduling deliveries, detecting issues, and generating reports . This precise tracking capability optimizes decision-making and saves time. “We save our clients a lot of manual processes,” Galán commented.
Furthermore, it integrates advanced analytics to evaluate the performance of warehouses and shipping companies, and offers brand customization options on tracking pages and notifications. Regarding the payment model, the platform does not charge monthly fees, only for the shipping labels purchased .
Founded in 2021, WeShip generated $95,000 in revenue in its first year and closed the last fiscal year with $2.2 million . Its technology is used by entrepreneurs and corporations such as Costco , Sally Beauty , and Banco Dondé .
