In an immersive experience, Volkswagen Truck & Bus Mexico and its partner MAN presented the new Euro VI line , designed to comply with regulations for reducing pollutants in transportation, as well as global environmental goals.

NOM -044 , which establishes the maximum limits for carbon monoxide emissions, indicates that as of January 1, 2025, all new vehicles imported, produced, and marketed in Mexico must comply with Euro VI and EPA 10 technologies .

In this context, the company is already aligned with these regulations and has adopted the corresponding technologies to comply with the new requirements.

From theory to practice

The day started off with a bang! At the event the company called Truck and Road , attendees had the opportunity to test drive trucks and buses on the track.

The event was at 8 a.m. at the Mexico Drive Resort , a private and exclusive racetrack. After a moment of mingling, the action began to the rhythm of Brazilian samba and Latin music, with dancers performing choreography while attendees learned about the Euro VI product range .

The racetrack provided the venue for event guests, accompanied by a specialist driver from the brand, to tour and test drive each model, confirming some of the features mentioned by Volkswagen executives.

Beyond EURO 6

With this slogan, accompanied by the name Espectacular r , the company sought to show important data about the new line of trucks and buses, among which they highlighted:

  • Nearly $200 million invested in the design of the new Euro VI line.
  • 80% reduction in pollutants.
  • 12% improvement in brake efficiency compared to the previous generation.
  • 70 new features.
  • 8% fuel savings.
  • Greater power and torque, with up to 10% more efficiency for all types of applications.

Additionally, the event reported that Volkswagen Truck & Bus closed 2024 with 46,000 units sold, 25% more than in 2023, and remains ranked fourth as the brand with the most sales in its segment.

Rafael Santos Magalhaes, the brand’s Director of Operations; Giovanni Juárez, Director of Sales, Marketing, and After-Sales; Gabriel Alemán, Engineering Manager; and other company executives and leaders spoke at the event to highlight the brand’s strategies, pillars, and goals with this launch.

They commented that the new Volkswagen Truck & Bus line is based on four key pillars: efficiency, comfort, safety and technology .

  1. Efficiency:
    • New engines with greater power and lower fuel consumption.
    • Automated transmission with Eco Roll driving mode, which optimizes performance through vehicle inertia.
    • Greater load capacity in models such as the Delivery and the Constellation .
  2. Comfort:
    • Air suspensions and parabolic springs reduce noise and improve the operator experience.
    • More spacious cabins with better ergonomics.
  3. Security:
    • Advanced systems such as traction control, stability control, hill start assist, and ABS and EBD brakes.
    • Seat belt usage alert on all models.
    • Increased visibility with LED headlights and daytime running lights (DRL).
  4. Technology:
    • 10-inch digital display with more than 80 functions for monitoring vehicle performance.
    • Driving habits monitoring system to optimize fuel consumption.

Product range and key improvements

Volkswagen Truck & Bus presented innovations in its main product lines:

  • Delivery : Its last-mile line, which incorporates greater power, automated transmission and greater safety.
  • Constellation : Featuring new versions with increased torque, automated transmission options, and improved cargo capacity.

The event concluded with a series of practical demonstrations , including hill braking and emergency braking tests, among others.

Regarding the company’s operations, it seeks to continue the growth of its parts center in Querétaro, in addition to expanding its dealership network. The company has also doubled the number of training hours at its Truck & Bus Academy , increasing from 600 to 1,200 per year, covering technical, sales, and customer service areas.

The company also seeks to continue working on inclusion, promoting the participation of women in the industry, with a second generation working in the sector.
