The Transportistas Unidos group announced that on June 28 of this year its members will block access to Mexico City, and will also take over booths and roads throughout the country starting at 8:00 in the morning, as part of a claim for late payments for work related to the Mayan Train.
The group detailed in a statement addressed to the media that the mobilization is motivated by the lack of payment to the suppliers of basaltic rock for the construction of the Mayan Train, an amount that amounts to 90 million pesos.
A total of 130 transport units will be part of the mobilization, as detailed by the organization Transportistas Unidos in the public document.
The roads that will be affected are:
- Tickets to Mexico City.
- Mexico-Cuernavaca Booth.
- Mexico-Querétaro Booth.
- Caseta México-Puebla.
- Mexico-Pachuca Booth.
- Caseta the old entrance to Veracruz Puerto.
- Mérida-Cancún Booth near Chichen Itzá.
- Cancun airport.
Likewise, the group detailed that 30 units will be installed in the Amozoc-Puebla booth; 20 units will be located in Frente 7 Xul-Ha Bacalar; 10 units will be parked on federal highway 186 at C-4, located on the Chetumal-Huay Pix highway. These mobilizations will begin at 8:00 am.
While 10 units will be located from 10:00 in the morning on federal highway 307 at the Tulum airport junction.
So far, no business organization has issued any position regarding the possible effects that the blockade could cause to logistics, production chains and the population in general.
