SAN PEDRO GARZA GARCÍA, NL. – Cargo transportation by road is an essential activity, extending beyond the pandemic period where its importance was universally recognized. To reaffirm the significance of this sector, particularly for operators, Trayecto hosted the inaugural edition of the Trayecto Forum.
The program of the Trayecto Forum focused on five key pillars: the political-economic environment, talent within organizations, the voice of the operator, technologies in transportation, and industry challenges.
Regarding challenges, Jorge Casares López, CEO of Trayecto, presented seven challenges facing the industry to its stakeholders: the current condition of units, with an average age of over 20 years; productivity loss due to delays in loading and unloading hours, as well as transit times; historically high levels of insecurity; overregulation of road transportation; fuel price volatility; informality; and, importantly, the resilience of the supply chain.
In line with the aforementioned approach, Fernando Bernal, Commercial Director of Trayecto, emphasized the importance of the stakeholders gathered during the event in his welcome address. The aim is to engage in close dialogue with these stakeholders to gain a better understanding of the challenges they face.
One of the panels that generated significant sensitivity was the one in which Magdalena Castillo, Cristóbal Salazar, Carlos Rodríguez, and Felipe Zapata participated. They reaffirmed their passion for this profession but also delivered strong messages about their reality and the areas of opportunity that exist on the roads and with clients. This panel was moderated by Víctor Salazar, Director of Trayecto USA.
The technology panel featured René Suárez, Director of Engineering at Kenworth Mexicana, Jorge Machuca, Director of Engines for Latin America at Cummins, and Julia Monroy, Commercial Director of Samsara Mexico. It was moderated by Ángel Garibay, CEO of ALA Transportes.
In this forum, the specialists made clear the reality of the Mexican market and the challenges of incorporating new developments, yet despite these obstacles, Trayecto sets trends in various sectors.
The discussion on the challenges of generating or retaining employees in organizations highlighted the obstacles encountered in the current conditions, where there is a shortage of talent in multiple areas.
The Talent panel, moderated by Sergio Hernández, Director of Human Capital at Trayecto, featured the participation of Olivia Arciniega, Human Capital Consultant at TAMÍN, Pablo Sillas, Director of Human Relations at DEACERO, and Leocadio Sánchez, Director of WISDENN Consulting.
The setup of this first edition of the Trayecto Forum was aimed at addressing the needs of various stakeholders, including employees, clients, suppliers, shareholders, various institutions, society at large, and the environment.
Jorge Casares also emphasized to event attendees the Trayecto Decalogue, which is aimed at fostering better relationships with its stakeholders:
- Problem-solving with a sense of urgency.
- Cordial relations and respectful treatment.
- Safety as a way of life.
- Attention and respect for the family.
- Acting based on ethics.
- Fiscal austerity.
- Passion for the profession.
- Promoting the Mexican brand.
