In order to achieve the fleet growth and influence objectives set for the period 2021-2025, Transportes Hernie has completed the reception of new units, both motor and allied equipment, which has led the company to a total fleet of 85 vehicles dedicated to the transport of gasoline, diesel, turbo fuel and fuel oil, as well as the movement of asphalt.
The investments aimed at increasing the fleet will also serve to address the dynamism projected by the road infrastructure reinforcement plans that were proposed by President Claudia Sheinbaum in her National Project . Above all, due to the increase in the movement of goods for both domestic consumption and for exports and imports.
Likewise, to meet the demands of manufacturing centers seeking to relocate to Mexico (nearshoring), “we need to keep the current infrastructure in good condition, as well as expand the communication routes that respond,” explained Edgar Martínez Chavero, general manager of Transportes Hernie and Comercializadora de Asfaltos y Emulsiones Hernie, in an interview with T21.
Martínez Chavero explained that in order to meet the growth of the fleet, it was necessary to take firm steps in training the talents behind the wheel , since we must remember that the movement of fuel requires specific permits, a specialized license and well-developed skills.
“So far this year we have received 15 new units. At Transportes Hernie, in addition to planning the acquisition of the units, we have focused on recruiting and training operators. I try to ensure that they are referred operators or family members of our collaborators, to ensure certainty and reliability in the new talents,” explained Martínez Chavero.
Transportes Hernie plans for the remainder of the year to receive five more units to total 90 motor vehicles. In turn, by 2025 the goal is to complete 100 units in the company to serve the transport of asphalt, fuel oil, gasoline, diesel and jet fuel . In addition, the company is working to continue the commercialization of asphalt and emulsions in the country.
“ At Transportes Hernie we continue to believe in and invest in Mexico , which is why we will continue to make the necessary investments to be able to serve the market in the sale of asphalt and the transportation of fuels,” said the executive.
