Qatar Airlines is the international airline that has grown the most in Mexico during the first five months of the year in air cargo transportation, registering an increase of 45.5% year-on-year.
According to the latest statistics report from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC),, the freighter went from nine thousand tons to 13,700 tons, while Cathay Pacific Airways obtained a drop of 14.2% because it closed said period with 21,600 tons compared to 25,100 tons last year.
On the contrary, the AFAC reported that during the aforementioned period,FedEx had 17.9% market share and Air France had only 4.1 percent.
Last May, FedEx was the one that had the largest increase with 35.2%, going from five thousand 500 tons to seven thousand 600 tons, in second place was Qatar Airlines with 31.5% because it moved two thousand 500 tons against the two thousand tons year-on-year, finally Lufthansa Cargo had an increase of 12.9%, since it transported 2,500 tons compared to 1,900 tons in 2023.
In the fifth month, the sharpest drop was for Cathay Pacific Airways with 20.8% less as it moved 4,300 tons versus 5,400 tons year-on-year.
