The American logistics operator, Ascent Global Logistics , has plans to turn Mexico into its logistics hub to grow towards Latin America, Europe and Asia due to the opportunities that have opened up due to the trend of relocating production lines (nearshoring) .
“Mexico is a very interesting logistics hub for the Americas. Our clients, aside from the United States, are expanding significantly toward Europe, Asia, and other markets, and we are supporting them in that growth. Mexico has generated everything through nearshoring, and anything that can’t be sold in North America can certainly be sold in other markets, and we are trying to stay one step ahead,” says Mauro Rodrigo González, president of the company in the country, which began operations in 2019.
It details that the operational, sales, and solutions team will grow during 2025. Aguascalientes is its main hub, although it also operates from Mexico City, where it offers regular and urgent shipments for industries such as automotive, industrial, aerospace and aviation, technology, and pharmaceutical.
Additionally, they specialize in delivery speed and sensitive cargo such as organs, medicines, and nuclear products . “We specialize in what few companies want to do: the most complicated part of logistics. Our technology platform allows us to manage everything from the marketplace to execution, supplier monitoring, and development,” he says.
Ascent Global Logistics’ history began in 1979 in the United States, where it currently offers a variety of land, sea, and air solutions. In 2024 alone, it handled more than 500,000 land shipments between Mexico and the United States, while also completing more than 7,000 air charters.
