In a changing and dynamic landscape, the software industry faces various challenges to become more efficient and competitive in Mexico, among them understanding, comprehending, and applying the concept of nearshoring (relocation of production lines seeking better operations and proximity to consumer hubs).
In this regard, Julián Gaxiola, president of CANISOFT, a grouping of companies in the software industry, mentioned that they must be prepared to welcome all industrial sectors that come forward, with one of the most important being transportation.
“As an industry, we are seeking to fully understand the concept, to be attentive to any industry that approaches, requiring services, hosting, hospitals, and storage that demand tools we have within CANISOFT,” he said in an interview with T21.
He also emphasized that the main challenges facing the software industry are updating, integration, and innovation.
“To innovate and update ourselves, we need to see how we can integrate the upcoming generations into the industry; that is one of the main challenges since this industry is very dynamic,” added Julián Gaxiola during the 1st Forum and Business Meeting of the Software Industry.
He also mentioned that as part of the software industry, they are 100% committed to safeguarding and protecting data, and to avoid risks, they seek integration among companies to implement strategies that ensure security in this matter.
“There are many tools, there are companies that provide different options to prevent data vulnerability (…) achieving 100% protection is complicated, but it’s what we focus on,” he added.
He also highlighted that the main objective is to create alliances between companies and educational institutions to enable students to integrate into the business environment with expectations of growth and innovation.
The companies integrated into CANISOFT generate more than a thousand direct jobs and around 30 thousand indirect ones. Additionally, its fundamental objective is to specifically group companies, freelancers, or students involved in software development.
