mas, one of the main cargo airlines in Mexico, announced that Robert van de Weg is its new CEO as of February 1, 2025 , who also takes over from Andrés Fabre, who assumes the position of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Meanwhile, Luis Sierra, who served as Chairman of the Board, remains a shareholder and member of the company’s Board.
The company shared in a statement that over the past 18 months, Andrés Fabre has led the transformation and strengthening of the firm , preparing it for sustained growth in 2025 and the years to come. “His vision and leadership have been key to consolidating the company and in his new role he will continue to support the transition and development of the company.”
“Robert has the ideal profile to lead the future of mas . His experience in managing cargo airlines and international operations will be key for this new stage. I am sure that he will take the airline even further, and from my role as executive president, I will be supporting him in this process,” said Fabre.
Robert van de Weg has an extensive background in cargo aviation , having previously served as Commercial Director at ECS Group in Paris, and held key positions at Cargolux , AirBridgeCargo and Atlas Air , before starting his career at KLM Cargo. His experience in scheduled air cargo, charter operations and special contracts will be key to the next stage of the freighter’s expansion.
“Andrés has laid a solid foundation for growth, and I am ready to continue that work. The airline is at a very important stage, and I am excited to collaborate with the team to strengthen our operations and expand our presence,” said Robert van de Weg.
