Grupo T21 celebrated the 2026 edition of The 100+ Influential People in Transportation and Logistics , an event that brought together the most outstanding personalities, entrepreneurs, and executives in the industry in Mexico to recognize their leadership, strategic vision, and contributions to the country’s development
This exercise has become a benchmark for the sector and once again served as the stage to highlight those who, day after day, drive the national economy through transport and logistics.
However, beyond the celebration, the event also became a space for reflection on the challenges facing this industry in a changing global context.
In response to this scenario, the panel “The art of leading in the storm of uncertainty” was held , where topics such as business resilience, decision-making in volatile environments, technological transformation and strategic vision were addressed.
The dialogue made it clear that, in the face of uncertainty, leadership is not only measured by financial results, but also by the ability to anticipate, adapt, and keep teams cohesive during challenging times . For many attendees, this panel set the tone for the 2026 edition: recognizing achievements, but also responsibly embracing the challenges ahead.
Entrepreneur of the Year 2026
One of the most anticipated moments was the presentation of the 2026 Businessman of the Year award to Alfonso Díaz de Vega , Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo CICE
During the presentation of the award, Fernando Con y Ledesma , president of the Mexican Association of Shipping Agents (Amanac) , highlighted the achievements that have marked the businessman’s management.
“It is always a source of pride when someone close to us, a friend in the sector, is recognized,” he said.
Alfonso Díaz de Vega was recognized for the development of logistics and port infrastructure , includingthe expansion of terminals in Veracruz and the promotion of innovative operating models that strengthen the competitiveness of the national maritime and port sector.
Upon receiving the award, Díaz de Vega emphasized that the prize represents the collective work of those involved in the logistics chain.
“It is a recognition of what I represent and the effort of many people who have led us, as part of the logistics chain, to occupy a relevant place in Mexican foreign trade,” he stated.
The businessman emphasized his pride in leading a nationally owned company in a sector that is strategic for the country.

Career Recognition
The ceremony also paid tribute to Eduardo Asperó , a consultant in the sector, for more than four decades of experience in the logistics industry
His journey, from public administration to private enterprise, has made him an essential figure for the promotion of the intermodal sector and a benchmark for the consolidation of the sector in the country .
Osiel Cruz Pacheco , CEO of Grupo T21, recalled his first meeting with Asperó in the late nineties, when he was preparing one of his first reports on rail transport and logistics.
From that meeting began a professional relationship that accompanied the growth of intermodal transport in Mexico and the emergence of the Mexican Association of Intermodal Transport (AMTI) , where Asperó played a key role.
“It was a trip where I learned a great deal about intermodal transport, and I was fortunate enough to write several chapters about it. Today we remember Eduardo Asperó and his entire career, because he helped build a significant part of the history of intermodal transport in this country,” said Cruz Pacheco.
Visibly surprised, Eduardo Asperó thanked everyone for the recognition and humorously recalled his first meeting with the journalist.
“I wasn’t expecting it, and it’s very satisfying. The truth is, when Osiel visited me, I thought it was an opportunity to get rid of a nosy journalist… but he ended up accompanying me on all this activity,” he commented, laughing.
The executive also highlighted the role of specialized media in documenting the evolution of the industry.
“I believe that today, more than ever, we need objective information, with substance and knowledge. That is something your team has built over years,” he added.

Recognize to strengthen
The 2026 list of the 100+ Influential People once again put a name and face to those who, from different fronts, sustain the movement of goods that drives the Mexican economy
In his closing remarks, Osiel Cruz Pacheco emphasized the importance of recognizing those who make strategic decisions in a complex environment.
“You are the ones who make up the arteries of the body called Mexico. Your job is to make decisions every day in scenarios of uncertainty, with incomplete information and with great responsibilities regarding investment and employment,” he said.
He added that, in many cases, these decisions are made alone, but they are fundamental to the functioning of the country.
“The worst thing that can happen is not making decisions. We might be wrong, or it might work, but we have to do it. That’s why at T21 we recognize their leadership and the stories they build every day,” he concluded.
