In the dynamic world of freight transport, safety and efficiency are essential. Road thefts and accidents not only affect the safety of operators and the integrity of goods but also have a significant impact on the companies’ economies. The loss of valuable assets increases operating costs, and factors like maintenance, fuel management, and route planning further complicate management.
Facing these challenges, transport companies are seeking advanced technological solutions to optimize their operations and enhance road safety. Tecnomotum, a leader in technological innovation for the transport sector, addresses these needs.
On May 23rd, during a breakfast organized by Tecnomotum and Lytx in Monterrey, over 50 transport operators responded to the invitation to discuss video telematics, road safety, and artificial intelligence. During the event, a panel with Tecnomotum clients shared their experiences and success stories with attendees. Additionally, in a conversation with T21, Carlos Lembo, Asset Security Manager at Solistica, detailed how they thwarted a theft thanks to technology contracted with Motum. More details of this case will be published in another T21 article.
“The important thing is not just to install cameras in the units; cameras are everywhere. The real value lies in how we process the information they provide. In such a complex operation, adding more tools without proper integration can be counterproductive,” commented Pedro Rivera, CEO of Tecnomotum, in an interview with T21.
Tecnomotum offers a comprehensive platform that centralizes all functionalities necessary for efficient and safe management. This platform not only allows transport operators to decide when alerts are generated but also includes a new layer of artificial intelligence called NeuroMotum. This advanced AI simplifies information analysis and decision-making, detecting deviations in operational resources, predicting unit failures, and anticipating accidents and risky behaviors among operators, among many other functionalities. NeuroMotum will be launched in the market in the coming months, promising to further revolutionize transport management.
“With this information, transport operators can make more informed decisions to optimize their operations, improve operator driving habits, and recognize those who demonstrate efficient driving,” adds Rivera.
The adoption of advanced technology is key to a more professional and safer freight transport industry. Despite some initial resistance, the correct use of these tools can revolutionize the sector, benefiting both companies and people by reducing risks on the roads.
Rivera highlights that we are living in a historic moment with the digitalization of transport. Business owners are understanding the importance of this technological leap and are better leveraging the available systems to automate many processes, such as trip liquidation and the robotization of monitoring centers, thus improving operational efficiency.
One of Tecnomotum’s most notable innovations is its video telematics technology. “Unlike traditional telematics, Tecnomotum’s video telematics, developed in conjunction with Lytx, uses artificial intelligence to offer facial recognition, operator identification, operator change alerts, weapon detection in the cabin, and engine shutdowns, among other functions,” explains Carlos Cota, VP of Revenue at Tecnomotum. This technology not only enhances road safety by identifying and alerting about potential dangers in real-time but also provides crucial tools for efficient fleet management.
With a base of over 1,600 freight transport fleets, Tecnomotum adapts to the specific needs of each client, developing tools based on the requirements of both the cargo owner and the carrier, following the latest technological trends in the sector.
Cristina Madera, Director of Strategic Planning at Vimado Transportes, affirms that Tecnomotum’s technology is essential for trucking companies. “The expectation is to obtain increasingly precise information to minimize risk and achieve zero accidents, thereby strengthening both personnel and asset security for companies,” she comments.
Ricardo Sousa, Operations Manager at Mega Logistics, highlights the importance of raising awareness among operators about the benefits of the technology. “Last year we migrated our entire fleet to Tecnomotum’s technology, and now we are training them to fully leverage the tools offered,” he states.
Tecnomotum is leading a technological revolution in freight transport, offering solutions that not only optimize operations but also promote safety and efficiency in a sector crucial to the global economy.
