TAPTMM has started its “flight plan” outside the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) , since its growth strategy is to have operations in another air and land terminal inside and outside the country, actions that will be completed by the end of 2024 and 2025.
Yazmín Lerín Morales, general director of TAPTMM and the e-commerce division of Grupo TAP, assures that this new infrastructure will be concentrated in one of the most important airports in Mexico and Latin America.
“What we want is to consolidate our division of air terminals with a presence in other airports, including in other countries. It is in the immediate future,” he shares in an interview with T21.
Currently, there is a great need in the Mexican market to grow the logistics network and not concentrate everything in Mexico City, despite the fact that the opening of more controlled facilities within the AIFA is expected.
Although TAPTMM’s strategic plan has been to develop the air division with the AIFA terminal , they seek to achieve this by consolidating the operation of their home line, since this generates the prestige and experience that a newly created company needs. This is the case of Lufthansa Cargo , which in addition to the fact that it has led them to have global and European certifications, has encouraged them to have an excellent service, based on closeness to the customer.
