Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) announced the official approval of its Master Development Program for the period 2026-2030, which will have an investment of 16 billion 005 million pesos (mdp), which will be allocated to infrastructure and operations in the 13 air terminals under its concession in Mexico.

In a statement, the group reported the approval of the project by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) , which seeks to comprehensively strengthen the infrastructure and operation of its airport network , and efficiently meet the expected growth in passenger and cargo demand.

OMA indicated that the resources will be used for the expansion and modernization of terminals, the development and rehabilitation of aeronautical infrastructure, as well as the incorporation of equipment and technology, with a focus on optimizing operational processes, increasing installed capacity and improving the passenger experience.

The distribution of investment was determined according to regional demand and the priorities of each terminal. Monterrey Airport will receive the largest share of investment, with 7.9688 billion pesos during the period, equivalent to 49.7% of the total ; followed by Culiacán Airport, which will receive 1.2073 billion pesos; Ciudad Juárez, with 1.1858 billion pesos; and Mazatlán, with 1.1642 billion pesos. At the lower end of the allocation range are Reynosa Airport with 263.3 million pesos and Zacatecas Airport with 342.8 million pesos.

OMA included sustainability initiatives with energy efficiency and decarbonization projects, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of its activities, which are part of the group’s long-term operational and environmental strategy.

Likewise, maximum rates per traffic unit were established with an annual efficiency factor of 0.8% in real terms . Zihuatanejo tops the list with the highest rate, which drops from 456.39 pesos in 2026 to 441.96 pesos in 2030; while San Luis Potosí has ​​the lowest, starting at 338.13 pesos and closing at 327.44 pesos.

OMA manages 13 international airports in nine Mexican states, including Monterrey, Acapulco, Mazatlán, and Zihuatanejo. It employs more than 1,200 people. The group is listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) and the NASDAQ, and since 2022 has been part of the VINCI Airports network.
