<p><strong><span>Francisco </span></strong><strong><span>Javier Vera Lima</span></strong><span> , president of V Modal, emphasized that transporting cargo by rail is more economical than road transport, in addition to improving cargo and road safety by reducing road accidents, and also highlighting the reduction of polluting gases.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>“At the end of the day, the customer is the one who will decide. Traxión has a thousand customers, plus those brought in by Solistica, will be subject to us reviewing their operations and supply chain. We will present them with options and say, ‘Yes, I change 20% of my logistics to rail and 80% to road.’ The end user is the one who will decide, and we will provide the options,” he said.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span>In an interview with T21, he said the </span><strong><span>acquisition</span></strong><span>  of Solistica, the comprehensive logistics division of </span><a href="https://www.femsa.com/es/"><span>Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA)</span></a><span> , will contribute to business growth.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;Solistica is a company with many clients and positive ways of operating. There will also be a great opportunity for conversion, so, once we adapt to the group&#8217;s current situation, I think that from here on out, there will be a cascade of major conversions, but ultimately it&#8217;s the client&#8217;s decision,&#8221; he commented.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span>It is worth remembering that last October, Grupo Traxión announced that </span><strong><span>it had signed an agreement</span></strong><span> for the acquisition of Solistica, a transaction estimated to close in the first quarter of 2025. The price agreed upon in the agreement is approximately  </span><strong><span>four thousand 60 million pesos (mdp)</span></strong><span> , on a debt-free and cash-free basis, and will be paid in cash.</span></p>
<p><span>Vera Lima mentioned that a successful case of intermodal conversion is a company that handles carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, which recorded savings of between 5% and 15%, in addition to improved cargo security.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;They&#8217;re moving toward the northern Pacific region, Chihuahua, Juárez, and recently they want to start with the southeast,&#8221; he explained.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span>He also said that </span><strong><span>a client has joined the company that moves empty bottles</span></strong><span> for packaging wines and tequila from Guadalajara, Jalisco, to California, in the United States, and also from Ensenada, Baja California.</span></p>
<p><span>The alliance with Grupo Traxión will celebrate its third anniversary next September, a period of adaptation between the two companies. Francisco Javier Vera emphasized that one of his goals remains converting more customers to intermodal transportation.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;There has already been customer conversion, but it&#8217;s been more of an adaptation process, and more conversions are coming in cascades. We&#8217;ve already standardized almost everything,&#8221; he emphasized.</span></p></blockquote>
