Based on data from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) on the registration of motor transport units, in the January-October 2025 cycle, a total of 20,742 cargo vehicles were registered, considering trucks and tractor-trailers .

An analysis conducted by T21 Business Intelligence identified that three brands account for 79.5% of all vehicles registered by the General Directorate of Federal Motor Transport (DGAF) .

As shown in the following chart, Kenworth led in the registration of commercial vehicles, with 7,759 vehicles, representing 37.4% of the total registered with the agency. Of these, 162 were DAF trucks and 32 were Peterbilt trucks.

If you add the 5,828 Freightliner vehicles and the 2,893 International units , along with the Kenworth units, you can see that the three brands together account for about 80% of the registered vehicles , both in federal public service and private transport.

The exercise carried out by T21 Business Intelligence also analyzed the tractor-trailer market , which in the January-October 2025 cycle  totaled 15,061 vehicles , that is, 72.6% of the total number of registered units.

In terms of brand performance, Kenworth remains the leader in the registration of tractor-trailers with 6,953 vehicles, giving it a 47.5 percent share.

In the penultimate month of 2025, heavy vehicle sales maintained the contraction trend compared to the same period in 2024 , both in wholesale and retail sales

According to a report by the National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor-Trailer Manufacturers (ANPACT) , wholesale sales of heavy cargo and passenger vehicles reached 2,773 units in November, representing a 57% drop compared to November 2024. However, November’s figure is the highest of the year.

Within wholesale sales, the cargo segment moved 2,457 units, which represented a drop of 57.2% compared to the comparative period, while passenger placements stood at 316 vehicles, a contraction of 54.9 percent.

ANPACT figures revealed that within the cargo segment, tractor-trailers returned to a sales cycle above one thousand units in the month, with 1,081 vehicles , this represented a decrease of 61.2 percent.

November added to the cycle of the first quarter of 2025, where wholesale sales of tractor-trailer trucks were above one thousand units.

In cumulative figures, total wholesale sales stood at 26,477 units , which meant a contraction of 54.7% compared to the same period in 2024, according to figures from ANPACT.

This behavior was comprised of 22,453 units from the cargo segment and 4,024 passenger vehicles, which represented a drop of 54.7% and 53.9%, respectively.

Cumulative sales of tractor-trailer trucks totaled 11,473 units as of November 2025, a decline of 58.2% compared to the same period in 2024. Tractor-trailer sales represented 51% of the total freight market sales during the cycle.

Retail in the same sense

Retail sales last November stood at 2,835 units , which meant a decrease of 43.1% compared to the performance in 2024.

Retail sales consisted of 2,404 cargo units, 44.9% less than in 2024; while the passenger segment totaled 431 vehicles, a contraction of 30.6 percent.

Within the cargo segment, tractor-trailers displaced 1,182 units , which was 53.5% below the record of November 2024.

Class 8 totaled 623 units, a decrease of 45.7% compared to the evaluation cycle, based on ANPACT figures.

In cumulative sales, the retail segment stood at 35,817 units at the end of November , 31% below the 2024 level.

In the freight sector, 29,907 trucks were recorded , a decrease of 32.1 percent. Passenger sales totaled 5,910 units, a 24.6% drop compared to the same period last year.

Regarding tractor-trailers, 15,431 units were moved in the period up to last November , a decrease of 35.7% compared to the same period in 2024.

The sale of tractor-trailer trucks represented 51.6% of sales in the cargo segment, while the cargo segment contributed 25.4 percent.
