At the close of trading in Mexico, Grupo Traxión announced its quarterly results, reporting a decline in both revenue and EBITDA for the first time.

In the second quarter of 2025 (2Q25), Traxión reported consolidated revenues of six thousand 864 million pesos (mdp) , this level is a drop of 6.9% compared to the same quarter of 2024, this quarterly revenue is the lowest recorded since 1Q24.

Regarding EBITDA , Traxión announced that they recorded 1,204 million pesos, a contraction of 4.4% compared to 2Q24.

A review of the segments comprising Traxión reveals that Logistics and Technology reached 2.061 billion pesos, a 24% decrease compared to 2Q24. The report justified the decline as “primarily due to a temporary reconfiguration in the movement of goods from several clients, resulting from tariff uncertainty, which resulted in a drop in the segment’s operating volumes; and the adjustment in revenue from last-mile retail (B2C) operations, which continued into 2Q24.”

Regarding the reduction in costs and expenses in the segment , this is justified by the decrease in operating volume in general, and the effects of the efficiency plan implemented in 2Q24, which includes the adjustment of last mile retail operations (B2C) in 2Q24.

“However, we believe this decline in volume is temporary and short-term, as we began to see signs of normalization during the first weeks of the third quarter,” said Aby Lijtszain, co-founder and CEO of Traxión, in his message to investors.

The other divisions performed differently. The Passenger Mobility segment recorded revenues of 2.744 billion pesos , a 4.5% increase over the previous quarter.

The Cargo Mobility segment reached revenues of 2.059 billion pesos , an increase of 1.3% compared to the 2.032 billion pesos that Traxión achieved in this segment during 2Q24.

Traxión’s operating indicators indicate that the total fleet in the Freight Mobility segment reached 2,279 units , while in the Passenger Mobility segment, 8,586 units were registered ; this represents a decrease of 3.2% and an increase of 4.2%, respectively.

In his report to investors, Aby Lijtszain announced that the acquisition of Solistica will allow Traxión to continue expanding its footprint in the country , better leveraging trade between Mexico and the United States.

At the close of 2Q25, Traxión reported a warehouse area of 694,802 square meters (m2) , which was -2.1% compared to 2Q24.

2025 RESULTS GUIDE

During its 2Q25 report, Traxión announced its 2025 earnings guidance, which it had not previously disclosed, noting that it does not include Solistica’s potential within the platform and that it will not be considered until its 2026 guidance.

“Traxión expects to grow its revenue by 14% to 16%, maintaining an EBITDA margin of between 16% and 17%,” the report states.

Meanwhile, a CapEx of approximately 2.4 billion pesos is planned for organic growth and equipment renewal.

“The company expects to end 2025 with a leverage level of around 2.2x net debt to EBITDA,” Traxión reported.

Solistica was created within FEMSA and operated as its integrated logistics (3PL) division, with a presence in Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. Its asset-lightmodel includes warehousing, distribution, and freight brokerage services.

The transaction, valued at approximately 4.04 billion pesos —equivalent to approximately US$80 million—includes FEMSA’s transportation management operations in Mexico and contract logistics operations in Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia , but excludes FEMSA’s LTL (less-than-truckload) operations in Brazil.

According to the information shared, Traxión decided to simultaneously divest Solistica’s operations in Colombia and Brazil , which were acquired by a consortium of Latin American investors, as part of the company’s strategic focus.

With this, Traxión reaffirms its commitment to focusing on the Mexican market, optimizing its portfolio, and prioritizing profitability.

The new facilities are located in key areas such as Monterrey, Guadalajara, León, and the metropolitan area of ​​the Valley of Mexico , which will allow the company to offer more robust solutions to industrial clients, especially those with cross-border operations.

In addition, the Traxporta digital platform , launched in 2021, will double its operating volume thanks to the integration of the Solistica system, which will increase responsiveness, route control, and operational efficiency.

Francisco Javier Vera Lima , president of V Modal, emphasized that transporting cargo by rail is more economical than road transport, in addition to improving cargo and road safety by reducing road accidents, and also highlighting the reduction of polluting gases.

Traxión has a thousand customers, plus those brought in by Solistica, will be subject to us reviewing their operations and supply chain. It is worth remembering that last October, Grupo Traxión announced that it had signed an agreement for the acquisition of Solistica, a transaction estimated to close in the first quarter of 2025. The price agreed upon in the agreement is approximately  four thousand 60 million pesos (mdp) , on a debt-free and cash-free basis, and will be paid in cash.

Vera Lima mentioned that a successful case of intermodal conversion is a company that handles carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, which recorded savings of between 5% and 15%, in addition to improved cargo security.

“They’re moving toward the northern Pacific region, Chihuahua, Juárez, and recently they want to start with the southeast,” he explained.

He also said that a client has joined the company that moves empty bottles for packaging wines and tequila from Guadalajara, Jalisco, to California, in the United States, and also from Ensenada, Baja California.

CRA explained to T21 that when the plant announced that an electric bus was coming to Mexico, they approached Traxión to see the vehicle, due to the intention of the transportation and logistics services company to advance its plans to incorporate the latest technology in accordance with its environmental protection objectives.

As for maintenance, this is minimal because it is an electric vehicle that does not use combustion, so it is only necessary to consider the proper functioning of the brakes and have availability of spare parts and collision parts. In addition to support in telemetry issues to monitor the performance of the units and improve the operation of the unit .

CRA explained that, as suppliers of the unit, they were in charge of installing the charging infrastructure for the unit. To this end, they have made investments to support this technological transition.

The  Mexican Economic Development Company (FEMSA) announced on Monday that it successfully completed the divestment of its refrigeration equipment and food service operations, Imbera and Torrey , for a total amount of eight billion pesos (mdp) , net of cash and debt.

In a statement, FEMSA reported that the transaction was announced on July 17 with Mill Point Capital LLC , a private equity firm.

Enrique González Zorrilla , director of Strategic Projects at FEMSA, posted on his LinkedIn profile about this operation, which took place this Monday.

“Today, the divestment of our refrigeration and foodservice businesses, Imbera, Repare, Torrey and Cooking Depot, to a private equity fund, Mill Point, was authorized. We continue to execute the FEMSA Forward focus and growth strategy.

It is worth remembering that last October, Grupo Traxión  announced that  it signed an agreement for the acquisition  of  Solistica , one of FEMSA’s business units.

Solística has an asset-light model that offers 3PL and freight brokerage services, with operations in Mexico, Brazil and Colombia, with a leadership position in its business lines, particularly in the north of the country,” Traxión said in a statement.

This transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be completed in the  first quarter of 2025.

Grupo Traxión (No. 4 del Top 100 del Autotransporte®) announced the results corresponding to the second quarter of 2024 (2Q24), as well as the consolidated results for the first half of 2024 (1H24), where it maintains double-digit progress in both periods.

In its document sent to investors and the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), it reported revenues of seven thousand 369 million pesos (mdp) in 2Q24, a growth of 23.2% compared to the same cycle in 2023. In the accumulated to 1H24, it entered 14 1,030 million pesos, an increase of 19.5% compared to the first half of 2023.

Based on Traxión’s report, the Logistics and Technology division was already consolidated as the main business unit of the holding company , adding revenues of 2,711 mpd in 1Q24 , which represented a 36.8% share of total revenues.

Meanwhile, the Passenger Mobility division recorded revenues of 2,626 million pesos in the quarter, to contribute 35.6% of the total generated by Traxión, for the first time behind Logistics and technology.

The Cargo Mobility division remained in third place in revenue generation, adding 2,032 million pesos during 2Q24.

In 2Q24, the Logistics and technology unit remained the one with the highest growth, registering a variation of 40.5% compared to the same cycle in 2023, People Mobility advanced 20.1% in the same comparative cycle, while Freight Mobility registered a increase of 9.0%, the smallest of the divisions.
