“Managing a fleet isn’t just about purchasing vehicles; it’s about ensuring they’re in compliance, maintaining them, supplying them with fuel or energy, and, above all, leveraging data to turn them into a strategic asset for the company,” he said during the Element Fleet and the Transformation of Fleet Management conference .

The executive listed the main challenges that companies face in this area , from financial to renew fleet, administrative , technological and operational .

“A vehicle isn’t an investment, unless your business is transportation; in most cases, it’s a depreciable expense. Therefore, the key is to allocate resources to the true generator of value and find efficiencies in fleet operations,” he explained.

One of the highlights of the presentation was the role of AI , where Guajardo shared that he even used this technology to prepare his presentation, convinced that those who know how to ask the right questions can obtain answers that transform decision-making.

“It’s said that data is the new oil, and it’s true: those who interpret and use it strategically can save millions of pesos. At Element Fleet, we integrate AI into our processes to simplify operations and anticipate problems,” he noted.

The company has developed a consultative approach that supports businesses from vehicle acquisition to vehicle remarketing , including regulatory compliance, maintenance programs, and route optimization.

The path to sustainability

Sustainability was another central focus of his participation. According to Guajardo, the transition to clean energy “is no longer an issue of the future, but an obligation of the present . “

With more than 1.5 million vehicles under management globally and a presence in over 50 countries, Element Fleet offers comprehensive consulting services for companies migrating to electric, hybrid, natural gas, or hydrogen vehicles. This service includes feasibility studies, charging infrastructure, and permit management.

“Eighty percent of products in Mexico are transported on wheels. If we manage to gradually migrate to clean energy, we can have a huge positive impact on the country and the planet,” he emphasized.

Element Fleet’s commitment focuses on combining innovation, digitalization, and sustainability to make fleets more strategic and less of an inevitable expense.

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Q. ROO.- Mexico remains behind the most advanced economies in the transition to electric vehicles, although it has made progress in costs and available supply, as explained by Sandra Aragonez, senior director at Alvarez & Marsal , during her participation in Top Flotillas and LOGEX 2025 .

Aragonez explained that only 4% of vehicle sales in Mexico are electric , a figure still low compared to countries like Norway, where the fleet reaches levels of up to 96%. However, he highlighted that between 2021 and 2024, the prices of these units were reduced by 37% , which has allowed for greater accessibility for consumers.

At the same time, he said that supply in the domestic market has tripled in recent years , indicating sustained growth despite the lack of clear incentives and sufficient infrastructure for cargo.

“In Mexico, sustainability goals are often the responsibility of companies, but there isn’t yet a clear national goal like there is in the Nordic countries,” Aragonez said.

In the regulatory arena, the specialist emphasized that NOM-064 will go into effect on January 1, 2025 , marking the first step toward regulating the use of clean energy in transportation. Although she considered this a step forward, she warned that the real discussion among companies is no longer whether they should migrate, but rather how to make that transition .

In addition, he raised three realities that already impact organizations:

Demand for sustainable solutions is growing steadily , driven by customers, markets, and regulations.

The technology exists and becomes more competitive every quarter .

The cost of inaction today is equivalent to a rising tax , ranging from financial and reputational impacts to permitting and financing.

Aragonez encouraged transportation and supply chain leaders to translate the transition into concrete, measurable actions: define indicators, such as energy savings or reduced delivery times; implement pilot projects within a timeframe of no more than 90 days; and understand that technology is not an isolated end, but rather a lever of business value.

“What I can’t measure, I can’t control; and what I can’t control, I can’t improve. If we want to move toward sustainability, we need to start by measuring,” he concluded.

In the context of the upcoming elections in Mexico, scheduled for June 2nd, electoral logistics have become a monumental challenge. To ensure that the more than 97 million registered voters can exercise their right to vote, the National Electoral Institute (INE) has implemented a rigorous logistical plan, according to information shared by Top Flotillas and LOGEX.

This process has involved the printing and distribution of 317 million ballots, as well as numerous documents and materials necessary to ensure an orderly and secure voting process across the country.

The scope of the elections is vast, with 20,367 positions being renewed at the federal and local levels, including the presidency of the Republic. Additionally, 500 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, 128 senatorial seats, and several governorships, local congresses, municipal councils, and mayoralties in eight states will be contested.

The transportation of ballots and electoral materials has been carried out under strict security measures and in coordination with various institutions.

This process, which began on May 3rd and extended until May 17th, involved the participation of the National Defense Secretariat (SEDENA), the Navy Secretariat (SEMAR), and the National Guard, along with local security forces in each state.

These ballots, guarded along 24 different routes, arrive at the 300 district councils to be counted, sealed, and grouped before being delivered to each polling station.

Timely and secure delivery of the ballots has been crucial, as any delay could compromise the integrity of the electoral process. To ensure this, detailed procedures were implemented at every step of the way, from printing at the Graphic Workshops of Mexico (TGM) to the final distribution.

The production of the ballots began with the executive direction of electoral organization of the INE, responsible for their graphic design. Subsequently, TGM took charge of printing, using security paper with watermark and invisible inks. The ballots are printed in sheets and then cut, packaged, and sent to various destinations.

Each stage of the process was designed to guarantee the authenticity and security of the ballots, avoiding any possibility of substitution or fraud. Once printed, the ballots are grouped into blocks and placed in boxes identified with specific labels to facilitate their distribution.

The INE and security forces work to ensure that each step of the logistical process will be carried out with the utmost precision. From the reception of the materials in the electoral warehouses to the final delivery to the presidents of the polling station boards, every detail was crucial so that on June 2nd, voters find their ballots ready and in order.
