Scania Mexico announced the completion of a strategic alliance with Frío Express (No. 15 in the Top 100 Autotransporte® ) by delivering 10 460 R 6×4 tractor units. This transport company has more than 45 years of experience in domestic and international general cargo transportation.

During the event held at Frío Express’s headquarters in Aguascalientes, Alejandro Mondragón, president and CEO of Scania Mexico, celebrated this new step for both companies: “Frío Express not only trusts our vehicles, but also a shared vision of the future. The Scania 460 R 6×4 units delivered are equipped with Euro 6 technology and a Super engine , technology that allows for greater fuel consumption efficiency, reduced emissions and operational reliability, essential elements for a company like Frio Express, which carries out large-scale and high-volume logistics operations.

“These units are designed to respond to the most demanding conditions of general cargo transportation. In addition to technical performance, Frio Express will be supported by our national service network , with connected solutions, proactive maintenance, and a customer-centric approach,” said Jorge Navarro, Commercial Director of Trucks and Buses at Scania Mexico.

SAN PEDRO GARZA GARCÍA, NL – Adverse news about the pace of the economy is constant, and in many cases, unfavorable. This is compounded by the uncertainty caused by U.S. President Donald Trump’s constant threat to impose tariffs on his trading partners.

In this context, Jorge Casares, general director of Trayecto ( number 1 in the Top 100 of Autotransporte® ), highlighted that above the challenges that Mexico and the United States face, both countries have a tradition and strong ties, which are combined with the resilience that characterizes the Mexican, factors that will allow them to face the current situation.

Adding to this element, Casares emphasized that business vision must extend beyond four- or six-year terms, which exceed the terms of government in both Mexico and the United States.

One element he highlighted in his talk is the ability to navigate uncertainty. In 2024, just over 330 billion dollars (mdd) were traded between the two countries through the Laredo border port between Mexico and the United States, with Mexico accounting for 98% of the operations.

Of this volume, Mexico’s exports to the United States totaled US$211 billion , while imports from Mexico amounted to US$128 billion.

In this behavior, the automotive and manufacturing industries contributed just over 60% of exports from Mexico, while in the opposite direction they participate with more than 30% of the total, according to figures from the United States Department of Commerce .

In this context, Ximple Logistics (member of the Top 100 of Auto Transport® ) identifies a market of challenges in 2025, but also of opportunities, and that is why they prioritize continuing to work with AAA clients that have operations in both Mexico and the United States and that take advantage of the high commercial integration motivated by the trade agreements that have been developed.

“We are seeing room to make more aggressive decisions in the market, where the differentiator is not getting goods from point A to B, but rather adding value through service, and being able to support customers’ growth decisions,” described Carlos Núñez, general director of Ximple Logistics.

“The addition of Raga was due to three factors: first, to continue with our exponential growth plan; second, to enter a key market such as Nuevo Laredo, avoiding the learning curve and being able to grow on the most important border; and third, to be able to offer door-to-door service with our integration with South Central Freight,” added Carlos Núñez.

Ximple Logistics has focused on implementing technology and processes aimed at being more efficient, which is why Raga Express was able to integrate into the operation in four months, while the previous acquisition had taken eight months.

With this new structure and focused on the binational market, Ximple Logistics is able to simplify the administrative process with clients, taking advantage of economies of scale to benefit its efficiency and operations with clients.

In the first half of the year, Ximple Logistics is adding 50 additional tractor-trailers to its fleet, bringing its fleet to nearly 300 , which will allow it to maintain the efficiency of its operation, since they will be managed with the same personnel and technology structure. “It is a matter of processes and the capacity of the collaborators,” added the interviewee.

Ximple Logistics has a strategic line outlined by three elements, where the first is the implementation of technology to be more efficient; the second is the growth of sales through the rationalization of the client portfolio, “we want to have better clients; and the third is the development of operators and the family integration that we can achieve, we have to ensure that the operator remains happy working in the company,” described Carlos Núñez.

In the first half of the 1940s, Don Pablo Martínez Montemayor began his career in cargo transportation, traveling on a truck along the Monterrey-Nuevo Laredo route and then to the center of the country.

Just last June, the Martínez Montemayor family celebrated eight decades of Don Pablo’s foray into freight transportation, where his vision drove his business career, but he was also a factor in the development of the activity in the northern region of the country.

His passion for motor transport and his vision of the business led him to found Transportes Monterrey in 1960, which began his business activity and allowed him to shape his career in the sector.

Over the decades, its deep immersion in the auto transport industry and the incorporation of new generations into the business allowed it to gradually form a business group that, starting in 2000, was called Grupo Transportes Monterrey, to give shape to the companies that were incorporated along the way.

T21 had the opportunity to speak on several occasions with direct collaborators of Don Pablo Martínez Montemayor, who had a career in the company of more than 40 years of service and recognized Don Pablo’s human quality and business vision to grow the company, factors that were effectively transmitted to the new generations, but also to the management team that took the wheel of the group. GUADALAJARA, JAL. – The roots of the founders of Autotransportes Pilot are cemented in passenger transportation and infrastructure construction. Although cargo transportation was not entirely unknown, for these two entrepreneurs who began operations in 2009, it was undoubtedly charting a new course.

Five years ago, Arturo Sánchez Carcoba, partner and founder of Autotransportes Pilot, recalled: “Our family comes from the passenger transport business, but in 2006, Roberto, my partner, my mother and I decided to change our activities to freight transport.”

On this journey, they ventured into the transportation services of Grupo Modelo , where they entered with a rented vehicle, and then began to explore areas of growth, moving towards a portfolio of dedicated, local and border crossing services.

In its first decade, Pilot managed to consolidate a fleet of 130 units, both tractor-trailer and trailer. Over the last five years, the acceleration has been constant. Over the last three years, freight transportation has maintained a growth rate of 3.34% in tons transported and 3.28% in ton-kilometers, according to figures from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) .
