Paulina Baqueiro Hadad found in customs operations an opportunity that went beyond simply fulfilling formalities: integrating the movement of goods from origin to destination. This understanding of the market became the foundation of a career that combines technical knowledge, commercial vision, and entrepreneurial spirit.

A graduate in Industrial Engineering with postgraduate training in logistics, she began her career as a traffic executive at a customs agency. In that role, she became familiar with the challenges of imports and exports , document coordination, and the need to anticipate costs, regulations, and timelines to avoid friction in shipments.

Her performance led her to assume the role of commercial manager, where she identified a recurring need: a single partner capable of coordinating international transport, customs requirements, and final delivery. The answer was to create her own freight forwarding agency in Yucatán: PP Logística .

The venture began with Paulina leading operations and sales. During the first few years, she combined customer service with coordinating shipments , building relationships with suppliers, and developing internal processes. This close involvement in each stage allowed her to design services based on real needs, not generic formulas.

Eight years later, the project has grown to 15 employees and has established a comprehensive suite of solutions for international trade. As CEO and Chairman of the Board, Paulina coordinates the team, drives service expansion, and maintains a focus on agility, compliance, and efficiency.

Her leadership reflects a new generation of logistics entrepreneurs who don’t wait for opportunities to appear: they create them. In a market where documentation or coordination errors can halt an entire supply chain, her strategy is to unite customs expertise, planning, and transportation under a single vision.

Seven thousand vehicles might seem like a lot until the figure surpasses 200,000; between those two numbers lie less than five years, five integrated companies, and a team of nearly 500 people. However, for Juan Pablo Baeza Prado , CEO and co-founder of Numaris , the story can’t be explained solely with numbers. Behind it all are people, technology, ideas, and a question that seems to always be with him: what can we do differently?

Before arriving there, his path led him through a different kind of business. At IGNIA Partners, he worked as an Investment Analyst and later participated in mergers and acquisitions projects within Grupo Kaluz. These experiences strengthened his knowledge of business growth, investment, and business development—tools he would later use to transform a company within an industry that had been operating in virtually the same way for some time.

The turning point came in 2021.

Since then, Baeza Prado has spearheaded the transformation of Numaris , which went from being primarily focused on tracking and GPS to becoming a comprehensive fleet management platform that combines IoT devices, software , artificial intelligence and specialized services.

The goal behind this evolution is to use technology to help transport and logistics companies operate more safely, efficiently, and profitably, he emphasized.

And as the technology changed, so did the scale. From managing around seven thousand connected vehicles, Numaris grew to over 200,000. Along the way, it integrated five companies and built a team of nearly 500 people, through a strategy that has combined organic growth and acquisitions.

For Baeza Prado, however, one of the greatest achievements lies beyond those figures: demonstrating that it is possible to build a technology company with a real impact on an industry as relevant as transportation from Mexico .

The company’s next phase also has the backing of investors such as Linzor Capital and international development organizations such as IFC and Proparco, which participate as partners and investors.

The answers are near.

Running a technology company might suggest a life spent in front of screens, numbers, and strategic meetings. Baeza prefers to look elsewhere as well: at the operational side .

Throughout her time at Numaris, she has participated in sales, implementation, customer service, acquisitions, strategy, and organizational development. Having worked in different areas allows her to view the company from various perspectives, but also to maintain an idea she considers fundamental to leadership: “never assume you already have all the answers,” she explained.

That’s why he talks about curiosity and closeness . He seeks to stay close to customers, the team, and operations because he believes that’s where the answers, and often the next opportunities, emerge. His commitment also lies in building teams that are better than himself, giving them autonomy, and fostering a culture where people understand that daily work must generate value for the customer.

But there is something that moves him even more: connecting pieces .

People who might not have met otherwise. Talent with technology. One idea with another. Baeza said he enjoys bringing these elements together around a shared vision because he is convinced that great transformations are not the work of a single person, but of extraordinary teams working with a common purpose.

In addition to his business activities, he serves on various boards of directors and participates in leadership initiatives such as the Young Leaders Circle of the Milken Institute .

Now their focus is on continuing to develop solutions that leverage data and artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency, safety, and management of fleets.

After transforming Numaris, the challenge is no longer to look at how much it has grown, but to imagine how far it can go when talent, technology and ideas advance in the same direction.

Jorge Andrés Rivas Contreras’s story in the sector began in August 2013, within a company dedicated to the import of household goods. There he took his first steps in areas such as pricing , traffic and imports, a stage that proved fundamental in building a comprehensive perspective of the logistics chain .

“It was an experience that allowed me to understand the operation from its foundations,” he noted. Beyond the processes and the coordination of shipments, he discovered that logistics is an activity closely linked to a company’s business strategy.

That vision accompanied him when he joined TIBA, a firm specializing in international logistics solutions, where he has spent much of his professional career. He started as an Operations Executive and, over the years, assumed responsibilities in the management of air, sea, and land operations, accumulating experience in various aspects of freight forwarding .

He currently serves as Verticals Manager at TIBA Mexico , a position from which he leads the specialization strategy for sectors such as health care, project cargo, bulk liquids, hospitality and solar, industries that demand logistics solutions with high levels of technical, regulatory and operational knowledge. 

Their work is not limited to business development. It also involves strengthening the technical capabilities of the teams , designing proposals tailored to the specific needs of each industry, and fostering collaboration between operational, commercial, and business development areas. 

“Specialization is one of the key differentiators in modern logistics,” said Jorge Andrés Rivas, one of T21’s 21 Young Leaders . In a context where supply chains face increasingly complex challenges, he believes that customers are no longer simply looking for suppliers capable of moving goods from one point to another.

Small national motor transport companies account for almost 2.1% of the sector’s economic units , but with nearly 17% of the federal public service vehicle fleet , according to figures from the General Directorate of Federal Motor Transport (DGAF) .

One of the biggest challenges for trucking companies across all sectors, and especially in this segment, is achieving a generational transition that allows for business continuity, and the biggest obstacle is ensuring that the next generations assume the same level of commitment as the founding partners .

The opposite has been the case for Ignacio Díaz, who is the second generation in the freight transport business, but since joining he has had a steady rise and has taken the family business, Multifletes, to better levels.

“Since my training as an Industrial Engineer at Anáhuac University, logistics was one of the constants in my education , in order to identify areas for improvement and better position the use of assets in supply chains,” shared Ignacio Díaz, current director of Multifletes.

Ignacio’s story in freight transport and logistics is one of the 21 careers recognized in the special “The 21 Young People of T21 2026” .

In 2009, he joined the family business with a fleet of three trucks, primarily focused on regional routes. Since then, the company has grown its fleet almost fifteenfold and diversified its services , even becoming a transportation provider for AAA multinational clients.

To achieve this progress in the company, his holistic vision was key, involving himself in all areas such as operation, maintenance, dispatch, administration, sales, settlements and a substantial part in this market, the link with the operators.

Part of Multifletes’ growth has been the market diversification achieved under Ignacio’s leadership, allowing them to participate in general cargo, refrigerated goods, last mile delivery, hazardous materials, and Hazmat.

Ignacio is aware that solid progress for the company requires that the management team also be up-to-date and at the forefront ; therefore, he keeps himself current with courses in transport company management, resource optimization, road safety and asset security, financing, among others, through the training networks of the National Chamber of Freight Transport (Canacar) , CESVI ,  Nacional Financiera , and others.

David Flores has shown that sustainable growth requires more than just good processes : it demands a combination of talent, technology, organizational culture, and strategic vision. 

Since January 2025, he has headed the general management of Universal Cargo , a Mexican company specializing in international logistics with more than 30 years of experience.  

David Flores’ professional career began in operations. At 20, he joined the group in the warehouse’s value-added area, where he had direct contact with the processes that support the logistics chain . Later, he joined the company’s customs agency, strengthening his technical knowledge of foreign trade and international regulations. 

A defining stage was his participation in the company’s operations in Spain, where he acquired a global perspective on best logistics practices and international business network management. 

Upon returning to Mexico, he assumed responsibilities in strategic areas such as sales,  international network development  , and operations. This experience allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the sector , grasping both the commercial needs of clients and the operational challenges faced by logistics companies in an increasingly complex and competitive environment. 

His rise to CEO coincides with a period of strong growth for Universal Cargo. The company has maintained annual increases exceeding 35%, reaching nearly 40% growth in the last fiscal year. 

Currently, the organization has 175 employees, a presence in eight cities across the country, and a digitalization strategy supported by the development of its own logistics ERP, designed to standardize processes, improve operational traceability, and optimize the customer experience. 

For Flores, who is part of  the T21 2026 21 Young Leaders , modernizing logistics depends not only on technological adoption . His vision focuses on building organizations capable of sustaining growth through structured processes and a strong corporate culture. However, behind the functioning of each link in the chain lies a less visible but equally crucial component: the development of public policies capable of creating conditions for commerce, industry, and transportation to operate more efficiently.

That is the work that Claudia Alexandra Patrón Palos performs today from the Ministry of Economy .

At 29 years old, she heads the Logistics and Supply Chain area of ​​the General Directorate of Innovation, Services and Domestic Trade (DGISCI), a responsibility that has placed her at the forefront of initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s logistics competitiveness.

Since joining the agency in 2023, she has participated in the design of strategies aligned with the Mexico Plan , promoting actions to professionalize the sector, boost the development of logistics infrastructure and strengthen coordination between authorities, companies and academic institutions.

One of the projects that best reflects the scope of his work is the presidency of the Competency Management Committee recognized by CONOCER-SEP, made up of more than 60 public, private and academic institutions.

Through this organization, it has promoted training and certification schemes that seek to raise the level of specialization of professionals in transport, logistics and the supply chain, convinced that talent is one of the main assets to improve the country’s competitiveness.

Their participation has also been relevant in logistical coordination in the face of national emergencies and in the development of the critical infrastructure proposal presented to entities in the United States and Canada, initiatives that reflect the growing importance of logistics as a strategic issue for economic security and the continuity of supply chains in North America.

Before joining the public service, Claudia had a solid career in the private sector. At Viterra de México, she coordinated rail and sea import operations, overseeing inventories, warehouses, foreign trade documentation, and domestic logistics operations.

That experience allowed him to learn firsthand about the daily challenges that companies face in maintaining the flow of goods and responding to an increasingly competitive environment.

Previously, as export coordinator at Muñoz Magaña Pet Supplements, she led commercial operations to the United States and Canada , achieving a 99% order fulfillment rate and contributing to reduced shipping times through optimized logistics processes. She also managed a portfolio of over one hundred products sold on digital platforms, integrating foreign trade operations with e-commerce strategies.

Her academic background reflects the same commitment to specialization. She holds a degree in International Trade and Business and master’s degrees in Finance, Logistics Management, and International Business, in addition to studies in tax law and executive programs at institutions such as Cambridge Judge Business School and the  Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE) , preparation that has allowed her to integrate a multidisciplinary vision to address the challenges of contemporary logistics .

More than just coordinating projects, Claudia Alexandra Patrón Palos has found in logistics a tool to boost the country’s economic development.

Based on that premise, Carlos Alberto Trejo Cruz has developed a career focused on designing solutions that allow companies to operate with greater efficiency, competitiveness and growth capacity.

His professional growth continued at AGUNSA , where he held positions of increasing responsibility, eventually becoming Head of Automotive Logistics. In this role, he led multidisciplinary teams and projects related to automotive logistics, ports, warehouses, land transport, and value-added services .

In addition to coordinating operations, he promoted strategies to increase the organization’s profitability through the development of new businesses, the optimization of processes, and the use of technological tools for decision-making.

He currently serves as Director of Solutions Design and New Business at Esférica Logistic , a company specializing in logistics solutions for the healthcare sector. In this role, he leads the design and implementation of projects for global clients such as General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, and Siemens —industries where precision, traceability, and regulatory compliance are essential to ensuring business continuity.

Beyond developing business proposals, their work consists of translating client needs into viable, efficient, and scalable operating models. Kenworth is one of the most traditional companies in the freight transport industry, having begun its journey in 1959. Its development since the mid-20th century motivated several families to venture into the trucking business in various aspects, such as vehicle distribution .

One of them is the Martos family, when Alfredo Martos Martínez began distributing Kenworth vehicles in the center of the country in 1967, and which two years later would consolidate as Kenworth del Centro .

Colloquially it is said that there are those who are born among iron and diesel, that is the case of Carlos Alfredo Martos Padilla , third generation immersed in the distribution of Kenworth vehicles and now DAF .

Having the surname Martos, although it gave him the possibility of continuing the work of his grandfather, and of his father Alfredo Martos Gallegos, current president of Grupo BACE , controller of Kenworth del Centro and Kenworth del Bajío , was not a guarantee for his advancement in the company.

His growth within the company has been gradual, allowing him to become familiar with all areas and gain a better understanding of the business. Since the age of 20, he has held various positions, including one focused on selling specialized fleet services, which he combined with his academic training as an Electromechanical Engineer.

Carlos is aware that the transport business lies in the support and after-sales service it provides to customers, and that is why his career has been focused on those areas, where he gradually advanced in various fields, but always close to the transporters.

Spending time with Carlos at meetings with transport companies makes it clear that he is constantly growing in his market and strengthening his business relationships with his clients, where his knowledge of all service verticals allows him to make well-founded contributions.
