In the State of Mexico, the operational pressure is even greater. The state concentrates more than 101,000 federal motor transport units, of which approximately 84% are freight trucks, positioning it as a strategic hub for national distribution, according to Ruiz.

Given this scenario, coordination between authorities and the private sector is emerging as the primary way to address the challenges. The DGAF emphasized that its collaborative work with Canacar continues through ongoing working groups, where key operational issues are reviewed and adjusted.

These measures include promoting service stations, training operators, and strengthening the regulatory framework, with the goal of improving the safety, efficiency, and competitiveness of road transport in the country , the official explained.

Thus, the start of the new state leadership takes place in an environment where the challenges are clearly defined and the demand is not only to represent the union, but to influence the conditions that determine its daily operation.

El cargo Safety and regulation put pressure on the trucking industry in the State of Mexico apareció primero en T21.

In an environment where the transport of goods by road remains one of the most vulnerable links for business activity, the Mexican Association of Automotive Distributors (AMDA) held a meeting with commanders of the Mexican Army and the National Guard to establish coordination agreements on security in the central region of the country.

Highway insecurity and cargo theft continue to impact the operations of businesses of all sizes. According to the 2025 survey by the   Mexican Employers’ Confederation (Coparmex) , 25.6% of its members reported experiencing cargo theft during the year, a higher percentage than that recorded in 2024.

Crimes such as extortion, theft of company vehicles and damage to facilities were also identified , problems that affect costs, delivery times and operational continuity.

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to establish direct communication channels and coordination mechanisms to address in a timely manner situations that may compromise the safety of companies and their employees.

The exchange of information on incidents was also discussed , as well as the need to reinforce security in public spaces and communication routes, key points for the operation of automotive agencies and the transfer of units.

In an environment where logistics and commercial operations face constant risks, insecurity remains one of the issues that must stay on the automotive sector’s agenda throughout the year, not only because of its impact on the movement of units and goods, but also because of the implications it has on costs, operational continuity and business confidence.
